To find Aranka and Thall in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, first clear the demons from Arendae Party House and take Aranka’s Shawl. Then return to Market Square and use the shawl to identify Thall, who is disguised as a crusader. Resolve the Inquisitor confrontation and return to the Temple of Desna to finish the quest.
Before you look for Aranka
Starward Gaze is tied to Ramien and the Desna adepts during the Market Square events. If Aranka’s conversation does not advance the quest, make sure you have spoken with Ramien or the adepts about what happened to them first. The quest’s initial objective concerns the missing adepts.
Find Aranka at Arendae Party House
- Travel to Arendae Party House, south of Market Square.
- Defeat the demons occupying the house.
- Go to the banquet and performance room. Look near the musicians for Aranka, who wears a blue dress.
- Speak with her and obtain Aranka’s Shawl. You need it to recognize Thall.
Find Thall in Market Square
Return to Market Square after collecting the shawl. Thall is disguised as a crusader, so his name may not appear over him before you initiate the interaction. Look around the square, including its damaged street area, and speak with the crusader. Aranka’s Shawl prompts him to reveal his identity.
Resolve the Inquisitor confrontation
Inquisitors approach after Thall is revealed. A peaceful outcome may be available if earlier dialogue and alignment choices support it; showing the Light of Heaven can matter. The option is not guaranteed in every playthrough. If dialogue does not defuse the confrontation, the guides describe fighting the Inquisitors instead. Some responses can result in Thall’s death, so the outcome depends on your conversation state rather than on one universally safe line.

Return to the Temple of Desna
Once Thall’s encounter is resolved, go back to the Temple of Desna and speak with the adepts to complete Starward Gaze. Community walkthroughs associate singing the Song of Elysium there with the Azata route. Azata is one of the game’s Mythic Paths, but the quest-specific choice guidance comes from community walkthroughs rather than the official game description.
