One player’s verdict on chasing Arc Raiders’ Cantina Legend rank is blunt: the time and activities he gave up for the experience were not worth it. That is a personal assessment—not proof that every player will find the climb unrewarding, or that he definitely reached the rank.
What the player said about the grind
A TwStalker page reposting a Dexerto social post attributes this statement to YouTuber Eskay: “The fact is that I temporarily ruined my life to play Arc Raiders trials.” The repost also attributes to him: “The things I gave up to chase that feeling were not worth it.” The wording comes from a secondary repost; the original post or recording has not been independently verified. Read the repost.
The point is opportunity cost. Eskay’s reported complaint was not a quantified estimate of hours or a claim that the cosmetic itself was objectively bad; it was that the sacrifices he made while pursuing the feeling of the Trials were not worth it to him. The available account does not specify those sacrifices or establish whether he ultimately earned Cantina Legend.
Why players disagree about whether Cantina Legend is worth it
Community discussions reflect different priorities. Some players say the skin or challenge is worth pursuing; others feel the upper ranks add too little reward for the time and effort. Neither view establishes what the climb will feel like for another player.
#1 Best Overall
One commenter who was glad the pursuit was over despite not achieving Cantina Legend described frustration with perceived lobby stacking, matchmaking exploitation, PvP risk, and the absence of separate solo, duo, and trio leaderboards. These are that player’s perceptions, not verified findings about how the matchmaking or leaderboard systems work. See the community discussion.

- The reward: Is the specific cosmetic or achievement valuable enough to you, rather than merely a reason to keep playing?
- Your time: Is the pursuit still fitting around the activities you would otherwise choose, or are you giving up things you care about?
- Your preferred play style: Would competition under the conditions you encounter remain enjoyable, even if you cannot control who is in a lobby?
- Your tolerance for uncertainty: Are you comfortable continuing without a confirmed estimate of the required score, time, or eventual result?
Stopping at a lower rank is a valid choice if continuing no longer feels worthwhile to you. That is a personal trade-off, not a claim that one rank is universally better value.
