During the event, the Drilbur challenge required catching Drilbur and evolving it into Excadrill; the Garbodor challenge required catching Trubbish and evolving it into Garbodor. Serebii lists 10,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust for completing each.
What each Collection Challenge required
Serebii’s event reference lists two challenge paths. Each required catching one Pokémon and evolving it into a specified target.
| Challenge | Catch | Evolve into | Listed reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drilbur | Drilbur | Excadrill | 10,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust (Serebii) |
| Garbodor | Trubbish | Garbodor | 10,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust (Serebii) |
The official Pokémon GO announcement confirms that the event’s Collection Challenges rewarded XP and Stardust, but it does not list the individual steps or exact amounts. The checklist and figures above are from Serebii’s Sustainability Week 2024 event reference.
When the event ran—and whether you can still complete the challenges
Sustainability Week ran from April 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. until April 26, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time, according to the official event announcement. The original challenges were time-limited and are no longer available. Niantic’s Collection Challenge guidance says these challenges usually disappear when their event ends; players can complete the original checklists only if Niantic brings them back.

How Collection Challenge requirements work
For these two checklists, catching the named Pokémon and evolving it into the listed target were both required. Niantic notes that a Collection Challenge can specify how a Pokémon must be acquired, so the method matters when an entry shows one. Check the entry’s details in the in-game challenge screen when a future Collection Challenge is available.
Other Sustainability Week 2024 event details
The event also featured increased frequency of Buddy Pokémon bringing Souvenirs and presents, longer time on the map after feeding a Buddy Berries or a Poffin, and half the usual distance to earn Buddy hearts. The official announcement listed Combee, Drilbur, Trubbish, Foongus, and Binacle in event 2 km Eggs. It said those eggs had a greater chance of hatching a Shiny Pokémon than wild encounters or Field Research, but did not publish numerical odds. Field Research encounters included Combee, Drilbur, Trubbish, and Binacle; Foongus could also appear for some Trainers.
