The projects attracted attention online. Tech Times reported more than 154,000 followers and over 16 million total views for the channel in 2019, describing those views as accumulated since its June 2017 launch. Republic World reported 157,940 subscribers and more than 16 million views in its September 2019 article. The Indian Express reported that a Twitter compilation of the work had reached 7 million views in its September 2019 coverage. These are separate, dated publication snapshots, not current or independently audited platform totals.
What games and franchises inspired the cardboard builds?
The projects were not limited to one game or even video games. Reported examples include a Monster Hunter greatsword and heavy bowgun, alongside props inspired by Naruto, Gundam, Pacific Rim, Sekiro, Kill la Kill and Bleach.

How do the Monster Hunter replicas move?
Greatsword: five retractable blades
Tech Times described a greatsword assembled from cut cardboard pieces taped together. The article estimated it at about 2.5 metres (8.2 feet) long and 5 kilograms (11 pounds), citing specifications attributed to the maker rather than an independent measurement. Its reported mechanism uses a handle lever to operate five retractable blades. That description comes from secondary reporting; it is not a tested construction guide.
Heavy bowgun: a folding stock
For the heavy bowgun, the reported design separated the body from the stock so the stock could fold without obstructing the rest of the prop. A magnet helped keep it in the folded position. The cited coverage describes this movement but does not establish durability or practical performance.

The reporting supports a modest starting point for a beginner: cardboard craft knife and tape are plausible general materials for cutting and joining pieces, but the articles do not identify a complete tool list, specific brands, or a verified kit used by the creator. Treat a detailed replica as a design-and-assembly project, not as a ready-made pattern unless you can confirm that a current template is accessible.
