What was Riven’s Lair?
Introduced with Season of the Wish in 2023, Riven’s Lair sent a fireteam of three into a sprawling underworld beneath the Dreaming City. Bungie described the activity as a dangerous route through traps and powerful enemies. Its story centered on recovering the last clutch of uncorrupted Ahamkara eggs and Riven’s bargain involving the Fifteenth Wish.

The activity also had unlockable wings and hidden treasure to discover. Its broad structure was a deeper descent through the lair, with rewards increasing farther into the activity; Bungie described a secret chamber for players who mastered it. The official overview does not provide a full encounter-by-encounter route, trap solutions, or complete loot table, so specific room sequences and chest contents should not be assumed.
How did progression and rewards work?

Bungie’s Season of the Wish activity description said, “Claim valuable rewards the farther you delve, culminating in a secret chamber awaiting those that master Riven’s Lair.” This establishes a reward progression tied to depth and mastery, but does not specify drop rates or guarantee particular items from individual chests.

Use Fused Wishing Glass for Dragon Gifts
Fused Wishing Glass could be spent on Dragon Gifts, which unlocked perks for the seasonal activity. Bungie’s listed examples included enhancements related to airborne combat, boss protection, melee, minibosses, Stasis, Arc, shields, and power weapons. These were activity perk upgrades, not separate gear or external rewards.
Is Riven’s Lair still playable?
Bungie’s Content Vault information says seasonal content remains available through its expansion and then moves into the vault when a new expansion launches. Bungie lists Season of the Wish and Riven’s Lair under previous years’ seasonal narratives and activities. That supports describing the activity as vaulted historical content; the official information cited here does not establish a later return or verify present-day access. Check the current in-game Director before planning a run.

Historical fixes worth knowing
Bungie’s December 12, 2023 patch notes recorded fixes for joining a Polysemy activity step and for end-of-activity chests becoming unavailable if an armor or weapon chest was opened before the wish room. These are dated fixes from the season, not evidence that the same problems are current.
