What Pokémon has officially confirmed
The Pokémon Company confirms that Mega Evolution is part of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Its official description explains that a Trainer’s Key Stone resonates with a Mega Stone held by a Pokémon, triggering a transformation that can change the Pokémon’s appearance and, for some Pokémon, its type. That confirms the mechanic, not Mega Meganium or Mega Zygarde specifically. Pokémon’s Mega Evolution overview provides the official context.

Pokémon announced a bundle of the Switch 2 edition and Mega Dimension for October 29, 2026. As of October 8, 2026, that date was still in the future, so the bundle was scheduled rather than released. The announcement is on Pokémon’s official news page.
