The Kuldra Saga is complete. RuneScape: Dragonwilds launched in version 1.0 on September 15, 2026, with Scorned Wilderness as its concluding region. Jagex’s next named update is the free Luminance, planned for December 2026. After that, the two announced chapters of the Blood Crystal Saga—Song of Rebellion and Crown of Night—are planned for 2027, alongside Hunter, official modding tools and other features. Jagex has not announced exact dates for those 2027 chapters or a complete schedule for later content.

These are announced plans, not guaranteed release dates. The October 3, 2026 RuneFest recap is Jagex’s latest detailed roadmap announcement covered here; it does not give exact dates for the 2027 saga chapters or a full post-2027 calendar.

What has already released: the Kuldra Saga is over
Scorned Wilderness is not an upcoming region. Jagex included it in the September 15, 2026 version 1.0 launch, which concluded the Kuldra Saga. The launch announcement also identifies Fellhollow, Dowdun Reach and Umbral Sands as updates already included in the game.
This changes how to read older roadmap posts. In January 2026, Jagex described Dowdun Reach, Umbral Sands and Scorned Wilderness as remaining regions, and discussed Fishing, an overall level-cap increase to 99, and monthly minor updates. Those were plans at the time; the later 1.0 announcement confirms the saga’s regions have since been delivered. Jagex also described a major-update-then-two-minor-updates cadence for 2026 Early Access development. That cadence should not be treated as a continuing post-launch service promise.

Luminance: the next named update
Jagex plans to release the free Luminance update in December 2026 as a prelude to the Blood Crystal Saga. Its announced story centers on protecting Ceridwen and her child from the bounty hunter Morwyn.
Prayer and new ways to interact with the world
Prayer is slated to arrive in Luminance. Jagex has not yet explained the skill’s full mechanics; its RuneFest recap mentions altars, scattering ashes and burying bones. Players will also be able to master the Lyre, resonate with Songstones and use Fairy Rings to travel to hidden destinations.
Customization, equipment and building
The announced update includes new facial customization, including elven ears, as well as new weapons, armour and vestiges. Builders can expect a green-and-white, Prifddinas-inspired building kit with arched roof pieces.

Blood Crystal Saga: two chapters planned for 2027
The Blood Crystal Saga is planned as two chapters. Jagex has named both, but has not published exact launch dates for either one.
Song of Rebellion
In the first chapter, rebel elves seek help against the Nos Clan. The story introduces Ailddinas, a crystalline elven city, and a surrounding forest affected by corruption. Jagex has also mentioned implings, new kebbit variants, grizzly bears and birds.
Hunter is the next announced skill and the first of several new skills Jagex says it plans for 2027. Its described activities include sneaking, trapping and collecting creatures. The other planned skill names and their release dates have not been announced.

Crown of Night
The second chapter sends players to dark lands under a perpetual eclipse, where they will confront the Nos Clan and use the Light of Seren. Jagex has named the Dark Bow and Ivandis Flail among the legendary weapons associated with the chapter.
Official modding, Secure Servers and Leaderboards
Jagex plans to release official creation tools, an in-game mod browser and an installer in the first half of 2027. The company says modding is planned for all platforms. These tools are expected to arrive alongside Song of Rebellion, Secure Servers and Leaderboards; the announcement does not give separate dates for those features.

Platforms and multiplayer
Version 1.0 launched on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. Jagex says the console editions include the prior Early Access updates and support cross-play across platforms. An earlier Early Access announcement described solo play and teams of up to four; check the current platform information for platform-specific multiplayer details.

What Jagex has—and has not—said about later updates
Jagex says more Dragonwilds story will follow the Blood Crystal Saga and describes ongoing free updates that may include side quests, weapons, decorations, rewards, adventures and quality-of-life work shaped by player feedback. That is a commitment to continued content in general, not a dated schedule for every future update.
For players asking what will keep them returning after Kuldra’s Saga, the announced roadmap points to a new saga, skills, modding and additional updates. It does not yet specify a full post-saga endgame or repeatable-content plan, nor does it provide the complete feature slate or exact timing for each 2027 chapter.
