It is software for running games through Mupen64Plus—not a Nintendo product, game library, or console. You can get RMG for Windows and Linux, with several Linux package formats available.
What Rosalie’s Mupen GUI does
The RMG project describes the program as “a free and open-source mupen64plus front-end written in C++.” In practical terms, the frontend provides a graphical way to use Mupen64Plus rather than interacting with the emulator only through command-line tools. Flathub describes the interface as customizable.
RMG does not provide a catalog of games. You need game content to use with the emulator, and the project pages cited here do not establish which physical game products, controllers, or adapters are required or compatible.

The official project repository lists these routes and links: RMG on GitHub. Flathub’s listing showed version 0.9.0 for x86_64 and aarch64 when checked; package versions and availability can change. See RMG on Flathub for its current listing.
How to get started
- Choose a download. Use the project’s GitHub Releases for Windows or the Linux distribution route that fits your system.
- Install or launch RMG. Follow the instructions for the package you selected. The project lists AppImage, Flatpak, AUR, and Fedora COPR for Linux; installation steps differ by format.
- Use RMG with Mupen64Plus. RMG is the graphical frontend; the project’s description identifies it as a Mupen64Plus frontend, not as a game collection.
- Supply game content you are entitled to use. The reviewed project listings do not give a general guide to obtaining games or establish support for particular physical media, controllers, or adapters.
How RMG netplay works
Netplay is not presented as a one-click built-in service. The project documents two setups, and both use the separately downloaded rmg-netplay-server.

Port forwarding
- Download
rmg-netplay-server. - Forward the ports specified in that server project’s README. RMG’s README does not give port numbers; use the server’s own instructions rather than guessing.
- Prepare a JSON server list.
- In RMG settings, enter the path to that file or its URL.
VPN tunneling
- Download
rmg-netplay-serverand Radmin VPN. - Create or join a VPN network.
- Have the host run the netplay server. The project says RMG should display it as
local-server.
