The August 2023 coverage confirms that Shrek in the Backrooms codes were advertised as a way to get free in-game coins, but it does not establish the actual code strings or whether any still work. Current third-party lists disagree, so no code can be called active without fresh in-game testing or confirmation from the developer.
Which Roblox game is this?
The official Roblox experience is Shrek in the Backrooms, associated with The MonkeyMan Fan Club. Its description presents a maze-exploration game and encourages players to search hidden places.
What did the codes give?
The description for a video published August 2, 2023 says the codes awarded free coins. Pro Game Guides’ March 29, 2024 guide describes coins as currency for the in-game shop, where players could get weapons, potions, and first-aid kits. These are virtual rewards within the Roblox experience.
Are any Shrek in the Backrooms codes working now?
The available sources do not establish a reliable current list. The dated August 2023 video description does not reveal its code strings or verify individual redemptions. A current Roblox Den tracker claims to list active codes, but its result contains conflicting verification and last-checked dates; the community-maintained Fandom codes page says none are active. Those pages therefore do not settle the status. Treat codes from third-party lists as unverified unless they redeem in-game or the developer confirms them.

An “Updated August 2023” label is historical, not evidence that a code works in 2026. Do not rely on an old list as a promise of current rewards.

The August 2, 2023 video titled “ALL Shrek in the Backrooms CODES” supports the historical claim that a codes video existed and described free coins. Its indexed description does not provide the code strings. The 2024 guide is also not current validity evidence. Reproducing a list from either source without the strings and a verified redemption would risk presenting guesses or expired codes as working.
