The Horde quest Job Opening: Guard Captain of Revantusk Village in The Hinterlands is its listed source. The trinket provides +20 Attack Power and 1% hit.
What is Rune of the Guard Captain?
It is item 19120, a bind-on-pickup trinket listed at item level 51. Its item record lists two effects: +20 Attack Power and 1% hit. These are the item’s stated attributes, not a performance test or a universal recommendation for every class or build.
Because its name includes “Rune,” it can be confused with Season of Discovery’s Rune Engraving system. Blizzard describes that system as adding abilities to characters; its runes are distinct from this equipment item. Blizzard’s Season of Discovery announcement explains the Rune Engraving feature.
Where do you get it?
The item is listed as a reward from the Horde quest Job Opening: Guard Captain of Revantusk Village, located in The Hinterlands. Wowhead’s quest record and ClassicDB’s quest record identify the quest as the source. The item database also lists the Hinterlands and this quest for the trinket: Rune of the Guard Captain item record.

This is a quest reward, not an item to seek from a Season of Discovery Rune Broker. Rune Brokers and class-rune acquisition guides concern character runes and related abilities, not item 19120.
Is it a Season of Discovery class rune?
No. Season of Discovery uses “rune” for abilities learned through Rune Engraving, while Rune of the Guard Captain is a trinket you equip in an equipment slot. A guide discussing class runes or Rune Brokers is not describing how to obtain this item. For current quest availability or server-specific behavior, check the quest in game; database and guide information can lag patches.

What do its stats mean for your character?
The item record establishes +20 Attack Power and 1% hit, but those figures alone do not establish that the trinket is best in slot for any particular class, specialization, level, or build. Whether it is useful depends on your character and the other trinkets available to you. Compare the slot, listed stats, and effort required to obtain it against your own alternatives rather than treating the item name or its stats as a universal ranking.
