Patch 1.0.1 was an early update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, not the game’s current version. Released November 29, 2024, on PC and Xbox, it adjusted armor durability and repair costs, changed Rookie difficulty and several enemy stats, and increased gamepad dead zones. GSC Game World said it addressed more than 650 bugs and issues.
What Patch 1.0.1 changed
GSC Game World’s November 29, 2024 Steam announcement said, “The Patch 1.0.1 is live both on PC and Xbox.” The developer called it its first fix patch and said it addressed over 650 different bugs and issues. That figure and the scope below are GSC’s description, not an independent count or performance test.
Durability, weapon wear, and repair costs
The update listed three separate equipment changes. Armor durability increased by 12.5 percent; weapon and armor repair costs decreased; and, specifically on Rookie difficulty, damage to the player’s weapon decreased by 23 percent. The 23 percent figure concerns weapon damage on Rookie, not armor durability or repair prices.
Rookie difficulty and combat balance
Rookie received armor and weapon buffs, along with a moderate reduction in damage from mutants. The announcement separately listed combat balance adjustments, so these should not all be read as Rookie-only changes.

Enemy adjustments
- Reduced health for Controllers, Burers, Boars, and Fleshes.
- Changes to Bloodsucker damage, protection, and health regeneration.
Gamepad dead zones
The exact patch-note wording is “Increased gamepad dead zones.” GSC did not specify values, which axes were affected, or how much the change should alter input feel. The notes therefore support saying the dead zones increased, but not assigning a particular magnitude or claiming a specific improvement.
Other fixes in the update
GSC’s announcement also described fixes across AI and NPC behavior, performance and out-of-memory problems in crowded hubs, roughly 100 crashes, mission progression blockers, open-world issues, UI and equipment, audio, animation, and the game world. The patch notes identify these areas but do not provide independent measurements of performance gains.

One additional numerical note said mission rewards increased “from 2 to 3 times.” The announcement does not clarify the baseline or whether that wording represents a 50 percent increase, so it is best understood as the source’s phrasing rather than converted into a percentage.

No. Patch 1.0.1 is a historical launch-period update. GSC’s official announcements feed, checked October 8, 2026, lists Patch 2.0.5 on September 10 and Patch 2.0.6 on September 18, 2026; a September 24 post says free Update 2.0 is available. Consult the game’s current update notes for changes introduced after 1.0.1.
