In Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, Riposte is a buff that makes the affected character’s attacks out of turn ignore Protection; it cannot be copied. The indexed character kits name Count Dooku, Jedi Knight Cal Kestis, Taron Malicos, Mara Jade Skywalker, Omega (Fugitive), and Shin Hati. Two additional Territory Wars effects can grant it conditionally: Jedi Master Mace Windu’s to Jedi Vanguard allies, and Mission Vao’s to all allies in a specific team setup.
What Riposte does
Riposte is a buff, not another term for counter chance. Its defining effect is that attacks out of turn ignore Protection. Having a kit that calls for a counterattack or an assist does not, by itself, mean the attacker has Riposte or ignores Protection. SWGoH Wiki’s Riposte glossary and SWGOH.GG’s buff guide give the same core definition.
Characters whose kits apply Riposte
These indexed ability entries identify characters whose own kits grant Riposte or grant it to specified allies. The recipient, trigger, and duration matter: the name of a character on this list does not mean every ally receives the buff in every battle.
| Character | Ability and recipient | Trigger, duration, or condition |
|---|---|---|
| Count Dooku | Master of Makashi grants Riposte to Dooku. | After dispelling all his debuffs, he gains it for two turns. The ability also grants Turn Meter to non-Tank Separatist allies; at max level, those allies gain Stealth for two turns. SWGoH Wiki: Count Dooku. |
| Jedi Knight Cal Kestis | His indexed ability text says he gains Riposte. | He gains it for two turns under the ability’s configuration condition. The indexed text says it cannot be copied, dispelled, or prevented. SWGOH.GG: Riposte. |
| Taron Malicos | Vile Thrash grants Riposte to Malicos. | Two turns. SWGOH.GG: Riposte. |
| Mara Jade Skywalker | Her special ability grants Riposte to her. | Two turns. Her Basic also deals more damage if she has Riposte. SWGOH.GG: Riposte. |
| Omega (Fugitive) | Our Way Out grants Riposte to Bad Batch allies. | Two turns. SWGOH.GG: Riposte. |
| Shin Hati | We’ll Take It From Here grants Riposte to Shin. | Two turns, alongside Critical Damage Up. With 15 or more Soldier of Fortune stacks, she attacks again if able and reduces Clean Escape’s cooldown. In the stated Territory Wars conditions, gaining Riposte at 15 or more stacks also reduces that cooldown by three. EA: Kit Reveal: Shin Hati. |
Conditional Territory Wars team grants
These effects are distinct from a character simply gaining Riposte through their own ability: they depend on Territory Wars and team or battle conditions.
Jedi Master Mace Windu
In Territory Wars, whenever an enemy is inflicted with Shatterpoint, his indexed unique ability grants Riposte for one turn to all Jedi Vanguard allies. SWGOH.GG: Riposte.
Mission Vao
In Territory Wars, if all allies are Old Republic and the leader is a Jedi, Mission’s Basic grants Riposte to all allies for two turns. Both the full Old Republic ally requirement and Jedi-leader requirement are necessary. SWGOH.GG: Riposte.

How to read the roster
The SWGOH.GG ability index provides the expanded set of named direct-kit entries and the two conditional Territory Wars grants. The SWGoH Wiki glossary page lists only Count Dooku, Jedi Knight Cal Kestis, and Taron Malicos, so it is narrower than the expanded index for newer kits. These pages establish named ability sources, not a guaranteed exhaustive count of every temporary, datacron, or future interaction.
