Yes. Sagat was playable at Capcom’s booth at EVO 2025 in Las Vegas, August 1–3. That was an early hands-on opportunity: Capcom released him for Street Fighter 6 on August 5, 2025. The announcement is now historical, not an upcoming release.
Was Sagat playable at EVO 2025?
Yes. EVO ran in Las Vegas from August 1–3, 2025, and attendees could try Sagat at the Capcom booth. The show-floor demo came before his general release in Street Fighter 6; it did not mean he was already available to all players. PLAION’s announcement for Capcom noted both the booth opportunity and the later launch date.

When did Sagat release in Street Fighter 6?
Sagat became available on August 5, 2025. Capcom announced the date in its official Sagat gameplay trailer description and confirmed availability in its release announcement. The trailer description put it in Capcom’s playful promotional voice: “Sagat returns on August 5 and he demands an audience with you adoring pests.”
How did players get Sagat?
In its July 2025 announcement, Capcom said owners of the Year 3 Character Pass or Year 3 Ultimate Pass would automatically receive Sagat when he released. The Character Pass lineup announced at the time comprised Sagat, C. Viper, Alex, and Ingrid. Capcom described the Ultimate Pass as including the Character Pass content plus additional outfit colors, another stage, and more Drive Tickets. These are details from the 2025 announcement, not confirmation of what is currently offered in storefronts.
