Spoilers: This late-game New Game+ quest affects weapon options and ending paths. To obtain the Sacred Sword, bring five specific offerings to five Jizo statues around Ebisugaoka, then return to the Divine Tree. If you want to purify it, solve the Crimson Water puzzle before picking up the sword; that area cannot be revisited afterward, according to the walkthrough guides cited below.
How do you get the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f?
The Sacred Sword quest is a New Game+ route, not a complete first-playthrough puzzle. Walkthrough sources report that only the first document installment appears before New Game+. In New Game+, find the five Research Journal Photo/document chapters and offer these items to Jizo statues in order: Faded Bride Doll, Rusted Flask, Broken Japanese Geta Sandal, Cracked Hibachi Brazier, and Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife. Where are the five Jizo offerings?
Complete the stages as their routes open. Several areas become inaccessible as the story advances, so do not save the fourth and fifth offerings for after entering the Shimizu Residence. These locations and timing warnings come from walkthrough sources rather than official game documentation. (Sacred Sword guide; route cutoff information)
1. Faded Bride Doll
- In New Game+, enter the newly opened house east of the starting area.
- Find the Balcony Key in an upstairs crate with a doll. Use the key to reach the room containing the Treasure Hunting Game Key.
- Use that key to unlock the kitchen storage chest and take the Faded Bride Doll.
- Offer it to the first Jizo at the bottom of the mountain path.
The dedicated guide says this first stage can be resumed later on the return route, but collecting and offering the doll when you find it is the safer route. (Sacred Sword guide; opening walkthrough)

2. Rusted Flask
At the small shrine by the Sennensugi Shrine gate, pick up the Rusted Flask beside the Antique Comb. Go downhill to the crossroads, turn left into the outdoor workshop area, and offer it to the second Jizo at the back. The crop-field side becomes unavailable after leaving Ebisugaoka for the Middle School, so finish this step before that departure. (Sacred Sword guide; opening walkthrough)
3. Broken Japanese Geta Sandal
On the approach to the school, look for the damaged bridge. Retrieve the Broken Japanese Geta Sandal from debris near the gap and bring it to the third Jizo near a house. Complete this offering before entering the open Middle School gate; the route is unavailable once you proceed inside. (Sacred Sword guide; weapon guide)

4. Cracked Hibachi Brazier
After the Fog Monster sequence in Sugisato, find the Cracked Hibachi Brazier behind Shu’s workshop. Take it to the Jizo near the Hokora on the route toward Shu’s house. Complete this stage before entering the Shimizu Residence, after which the path back is blocked. (Sacred Sword guide; weapon guide)
5. Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife
Pick up the Research Journal Photo on a bench along the path between Shu’s house and Ebisugaoka. The fifth Jizo is up the old stone stairs behind the large house. Retrieve Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife from a tree in a nearby backyard and offer it there. This stage is also cut off by entering the Shimizu Residence, so complete it first. Can you miss or lock yourself out of the Sacred Sword puzzle?
Progression can close routes to individual offerings. The walkthroughs specifically warn that the crop-field side closes after leaving Ebisugaoka for the Middle School, the sandal route is no longer available after entering the school, and the fourth and fifth stages must be completed before entering the Shimizu Residence. If you have already crossed one of those gates, the cited guides do not establish a recovery route for that stage in the same run.
After making the fifth offering, Hinako directs you back to the Divine Tree. Return to the tree behind the old shrine where Photo 4 was found; the Sacred Sword appears at its base. In New Game++, the weapon can instead be collected at the second Jizo statue. (Sacred Sword guide; weapon guide)

How do you purify the Sacred Sword?
If you want the purification option, finish the Crimson Water puzzle in the Dark Shrine Main Hall before taking the sword. The puzzle guide says the area cannot be revisited after sword pickup. Reach the Hermitage of Crimson Water through the southeastern metal door and follow the route to the garden. (Crimson Water puzzle guide)
- Ring the balcony bell marked by the stone symbol.
- Ring the bell on the eastern island marked by the water symbol.
- Cross the stone bridge and ring the bell marked by the tree symbol.
- After returning to Ebisugaoka with the sword, interact with the basin at the old Oinari-sama shrine in the northwest forest.
The bell sequence is stone, water, tree. Completing the puzzle first and using the basin after obtaining the sword is the sequence associated with purification in the walkthrough. (Crimson Water puzzle guide)

Walkthrough sources describe different repair behavior and ending associations for the two states. They characterize purification as a weapon trade-off, but do not provide numeric damage measurements.

Those ending associations come from walkthrough material, not official Konami documentation, and should not be treated as a complete ending checklist.
