Where did the Xbox-with-1.0 claim come from?
On November 27, 2023, Windows Central reported that SCUM’s official account replied to a request for an Xbox port with the words “Coming with the 1.0 release!” The reply gave no date. It was a statement of intent tied to a future milestone, not confirmation that the Xbox version was already available or had a scheduled launch.

What changed when SCUM 1.0 launched on PC?
Gamepires announced on June 9, 2025 that SCUM 1.0 would arrive June 17. On that date, the game’s official Steam news feed published its 1.0 patch notes and described the release as out. That completed the PC milestone mentioned in the 2023 Xbox statement; it does not by itself confirm that an Xbox version launched alongside it.
The 1.0 update included a reworked island, revised points of interest, new greenery and foliage, and a snow-biome shoreline. These are PC update details, not evidence of Xbox availability or console compatibility.

Has an Xbox release date been announced since?
A Splash Damage update published May 19, 2026 discussed ongoing work with Gamepires and future SCUM updates, but it provided no Xbox release date or console-specific details. Studio Design Director Dominic Butler said, “This summer feels like the start of something important for SCUM, and we can’t wait to show you more.” The comment concerns the studio’s plans; it does not confirm an Xbox launch.
The sources available here do not establish that the Xbox version was cancelled, either. The accurate status is that the earlier plan was reported, while a current release date and launch confirmation remain unverified.

What should Xbox players check before buying?
Do not assume that a PC 1.0 announcement means SCUM works on Xbox, or buy a console edition based only on the 2023 statement. Before purchasing, look for an official Xbox store listing or a direct announcement from the developers that specifies:
- Which Xbox models are supported.
- The release date and whether the edition is available digitally or physically.
- Whether Xbox players can play with PC users and whether progress carries across platforms.
None of those Xbox-specific details is established by the announcements described above.

What about SCUM 1.0 server files?
For PC server operators, the official 1.0 announcement said server files would be available through Steam’s Tools section and advised resetting relevant configuration files. That guidance concerns PC servers; it does not indicate an Xbox server release.
