Redmond, Washington-based Ironwood Studios has raised $4 million in seed funding to develop its next game, according to GeekWire. Lifelike Capital led the round, announced February 11, 2026. Ironwood has not named the project or announced a release date, genre, or platforms.

What Ironwood Studios announced

GeekWire reported that Lifelike Capital led a $4 million seed round for Ironwood Studios, an independent game studio based in Redmond, in the Seattle area. The stated purpose of the funding is to finance the studio’s next game. The report does not disclose the other investors, funding terms, company valuation, team size, or how the money will be divided among development costs.

In a press release quoted by GeekWire, CEO and creative director Cassandra Dracott said, “This funding round points us towards the best version of that future and we’re thrilled to work alongside Lifelike Capital to make it a reality.”

What is Ironwood Studios making next?

The next project is unnamed in GeekWire’s report. It provides no release window, gameplay details, genre, or target platforms, so the funding announcement does not establish what kind of game Ironwood is developing.

Why Pacific Drive matters to the announcement

Ironwood’s released game is Pacific Drive, a driving-survival game published by Kepler Interactive. It launched in February 2024 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Set in 1998 in a science-warped area of the rural Pacific Northwest, it asks players to maintain and customize an old station wagon while evading environmental hazards. GeekWire distinguishes it from many survival games by its lack of traditional combat.

GeekWire reported that Pacific Drive had passed 1.5 million units sold, citing an official Ironwood release. That figure is a company-reported milestone, not an independently audited count; the report gives no sales geography or further breakdown. It also says the game appeared on Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

Other Pacific Drive developments

GeekWire says the paid expansion Whispers in the Woods was released in October; its report does not specify the year. The article also notes that filmmaker James Wan acquired television rights to Pacific Drive in 2024. That rights acquisition is not confirmation that a series is in production or has a release date.
