Its character list includes Bohush’s mother, Cook Dorothy, Farmer Slavek, Guard Commander Tuma, Herdsboy Natan, Hired hand Franzi, Jurko, Ludmila of Semine, Myshka, Olda of Semine and Sir Jan Semine, along with guards and Moravian characters. Listed skill teachers are Captain Gnarly, Guildsman Janek, Gules and Tibor. The location entry also names Life in the Saddle I and Recipe for Soap as notable items.
How do you start the Magic Horseshoes task?
PowerPyx’s walkthrough, published December 17, 2025, identifies Magic Horseshoes as a task from Guildsman Janek at the Semine saddler. It does not establish an exact unlock requirement, so these steps describe the guide’s route once the task is available—not a guaranteed trigger.
- Speak with Guildsman Janek at the Semine saddler to receive the task.
- Find the horseshoes at the nomads’ camp. Discussing them with the nomads is optional, according to the guide.
- Forge the Spiked Horseshoes.
- Return the horseshoes to Janek, then come back after waiting to collect the reported reward: three Cobbler’s Kits and 80 Groschen.
PowerPyx says the task was implemented with the free Horse Races DLC in Patch 1.3 on May 15, 2025, and suggests updating the game if it is missing. That date and version are the guide’s account; the exact conditions for the task to appear remain unspecified.

Spoilers: What happens in Necessary Evil at Semine?
Story spoilers below. In its guide published February 4, 2025, PC Gamer describes a consequential choice after Henry discovers Olda Semine’s involvement with bandits: tell Von Bergow what he learned or keep it secret. The guide reports that keeping the information secret prevents the raid.
If the raid happens, PC Gamer says Henry later chooses whether to side with Hashek or Lord Semine. Its account says either route ends with the castle destroyed, but the characters killed and the aftermath differ.
