Enter the quadrant through the Border of the Alpha Quadrant at Operations Level 26+ or the Depths of the Delta Quadrant at Operations Level 34+. Velixys is the starting system for Species 8472 hostiles, a separate encounter loop.
Where do I find Hirogen hostiles?
Travel to the Delta Quadrant and look for Hirogen hostiles in its systems. Scopely says these hostiles drop Hirogen Relics, which are used in Voyager progression. The Delta Quadrant access guide identifies two entry points:
- Border of the Alpha Quadrant: available at Operations Level 26+. Scopely lists planetary missions, Hirogen Hostiles, Lost Hostiles, and Species 8472 Formation Armadas among its activities.
- Depths of the Delta Quadrant: available at Operations Level 34+.
These are routes into the region, not a complete list of Hirogen systems. The official USS Voyager help page describes Hirogen Relics as drops from Hirogen Hostiles in Delta Quadrant systems.
Is Velixys a Hirogen system?
Velixys matters to Delta Quadrant progression, but Scopely specifically identifies it as the starting system for Species 8472 hostiles. The USS Voyager help page names Velixys as the system for Species 8472 Bioships, which can be revealed with Advanced Sensors. Species 8472 Bioships are not Hirogen hostiles, so do not treat Velixys as the sole destination for Hirogen hunting.

Where are the Hirogen Hunter Elite systems?
A third-party STFC.space guide lists Elite Hunters across 24 systems, with hostile levels from 35 to 60 and stated warp requirements ranging from 28 to 900. Scopely’s cited support pages do not provide a complete system-by-system Elite list, so use those figures as a reference rather than guaranteed current game data. Check the live map for the system name and your access requirement before setting course; higher-level systems can require substantially more warp range.
When choosing a system, match the hostile to your ship and crew’s ability to defeat it efficiently, then check warp access and whether the encounter advances your objective. The official materials confirm Hirogen Relics as a Voyager progression resource but do not establish a complete current comparison of system rewards.

How Hirogen Relics fit into Voyager progression
Hirogen Relics connect Delta Quadrant hunting to the Voyager loop. According to Scopely’s USS Voyager guide, you refine them in the Voyager refinery to obtain Deuterium Canisters. The guide states that blueprint acquisition requires Operations Level 30 and defeating Hirogen hostiles for relics; building the USS Voyager requires Operations Level 34 and all blueprints.

Not every activity in these systems is Hirogen hunting. Scopely’s Voyager guide says Anomaly Samples are mined in FSEP-505, FSEP-3819, FSEP-247, and FSEP-001. Species 8472 Bioships are revealed with Advanced Sensors in Velixys. Keep these separate from Hirogen Hostiles, which drop the relics used in Voyager progression.
