When did Saber and Archer join Honkai: Star Rail?
HoYoverse launched the collaboration on July 11, 2025, with a special story and event set in Penacony. The Trailblaze Continuance, titled “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail,” casts the story as a Holy Grail War, with Saber, Archer, and Lancer among the Heroic Spirits answering the Grail’s call. This was a crossover with the anime Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works], not a new Fate game. HoYoverse’s June 20, 2025 announcement introduced the collaboration.
Who are Saber and Archer in Honkai: Star Rail?
HoYoverse announced both as 5-star playable collaboration characters in Version 3.4. Their official descriptions distinguish them by damage type and combat pattern:

Was Archer free in the Fate collaboration?
Yes, historically. HoYoverse offered Archer as a free login claim from the collaboration’s July 11, 2025 start through the end of Version 3.6, with Trailblaze Level 3 required. HoYoverse announced Version 3.6 for September 24, 2025, so that claim period has passed; it is not a current offer. The original terms appear in the Version 3.4 update notice and the Version 3.6 announcement.
Can you get Saber or Archer now?
The June 2025 launch announcement said the collaboration character and Light Cone banners would be available long-term after the event began. That wording alone does not verify that either Warp is live on October 8, 2026. Check the game’s current Warp menu or a current official notice before planning to obtain either character or Light Cone; the later-version news index does not establish their present availability. HoYoverse’s collaboration announcement contains the original long-term availability wording, while its September 27, 2026 news index does not confirm current Fate Warp status.

At launch, the official Version 3.4 update notice said the collaboration characters did not have English voiceovers and that players could switch to another voiceover language. The notice also described an option introduced in Version 3.5 to switch collaboration-character voice lines individually to the Japanese original audio.
