To reach The First Descendant’s Season 1 Invasion content, finish the existing Pre-Season main quests on Normal difficulty, then follow the Invasion episode quest chain. “Altered Design” unlocks Inversion Reinforcement; “How to Hide the Truth” unlocks Invasion Dungeons. Season 1 began in 2024, so treat the original activity schedule and mechanics below as historical guidance and check the current quest menu and patch notes for legacy availability.
How to unlock Invasion content
- Complete the existing Pre-Season main quests on Normal difficulty. Nexon’s Update 1.1.0 says the Invasion episode continues with “Mysterious Phenomena” after the existing main quests are complete.
- Follow the episode through “Altered Design.” Completing this main quest unlocks Inversion Reinforcement.
- Continue to “How to Hide the Truth.” Completing this main quest unlocks Invasion Dungeons.
- Look for an available Invasion on the map or at Albion’s Infiltration Operations Terminal. The original Season 1 rules described two Hard Infiltration Operations selected each day and allowed entry into the same Invasion twice per day. These are legacy rules; rely on the live interface for current entry availability and limits.
Nexon confirms these quest gates in its Update 1.1.0 notes and support articles on accessing Inversion Reinforcement and accessing the Invasion Dungeon.

What to expect inside the Invasion Dungeons
The launch notes describe three Legion-specific puzzle patterns. Identify the faction’s objective rather than assuming every room is a standard combat mission. These are Season 1 launch descriptions, not a guarantee that every detail remains unchanged in the current client.

| Legion of Darkness | Use the Guide to identify an Arche Tile trait, then occupy matching-color tiles to decode the encryption while enemies try to retake them. |
Nexon’s Update 1.1.0 notes describe Invasion Dungeons as solo-only at launch. They say faster clears could award more Hailey Research Materials, while dungeon completion awarded Gold and Ironheart Particles. Since later patches may have changed entry or reward details, check what the current interface displays.

How Inversion Reinforcement worked
Inversion Reinforcement was Season 1’s progression system, not permanent account progression. Players used Ironheart Particles earned from Invasion Dungeons and Hard Difficulty fields to level an Inversion Reinforcer. Its effect categories were Hunt, Attribute, Recovery, Survival, and Season. Players could enable three learned effects; completing an entire line of effects also granted that line’s collection effects.
Nexon described the system as seasonal and said it would reset at the end of the Invasion Season. The Season 1 announcement likewise presented Inversion Reinforcement as a season-only system. Do not mistake it for a lasting character upgrade.

Season 1 timing and what may have changed
Season 1 launched in 2024 across three scheduled updates: August 29, September 26, and October 30. The schedule was announced by The First Descendant director Minseok Joo in Nexon’s Dev Note Vol. 12. A subsequent Dev Note Vol. 13 announced intended changes to puzzle difficulty and the seasonal system after player feedback, so the initial Update 1.1.0 descriptions are not a complete final-state changelog.
Nexon’s news index includes updates and hotfixes after Season 1, including notices from 2026. The available official information does not establish whether each legacy quest or activity remains accessible in precisely its original form. If a named quest or activity is missing, check the current quest menu and patch notes rather than assuming the original schedule still applies.
