Seattle-based Reflection Games, led by Big Fish Games founder Paul Thelen, drew two rounds of reported investment coverage as it developed its mobile strategy game Mutant Forge. GeekWire reported about $2 million in fresh cash in March 2024 and a separate $1.1 million investment in May 2025. Those figures should not be added into a cumulative total: the available reports do not establish the studio’s complete financing history or whether the amounts are non-overlapping.
Who is developing Mutant Forge?
Reflection Games is a Seattle-based game studio incorporated in Delaware in 2021. A U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Form D lists the studio’s Seattle principal business address and Paul Thelen as an executive officer, director and promoter. The filing is a notice of an exempt securities offering; the SEC says it has not reviewed the filing or determined that its information is accurate and complete. SEC Form D

What kind of game is Mutant Forge?
GeekWire described Mutant Forge as a free-to-play mobile strategy battler for iOS and Android, combining tower-defense and auto-battler elements. Players deploy monsters against opponents and their fortifications; units have different strengths and weaknesses, and recharge timers shape the pace of redeployment. Players can earn currency and items to improve statistics and abilities or create units. The 2025 report described matches against both CPU-controlled opponents and other players. That remains unclear from the available information. GeekWire’s May 2025 article called Mutant Forge the studio’s debut project and reported that it had soft-launched out of beta and started a second content season in February. Reflection Games’ current website, however, promotes Rift Wars as its debut mobile strategy game. The sources do not explain whether Rift Wars is a renamed Mutant Forge, a replacement, or a separate title, so Mutant Forge’s current name and availability are unconfirmed.
