When was the first SMITE 2 Alpha Weekend?
Hi-Rez announced the weekend on April 30, 2024, with server availability scheduled from May 2 at 8 p.m. ET until May 4 at 10 p.m. ET. Playable gods
The announcement listed 14 playable gods for the weekend. Hi-Rez support characterized the Alpha as an early test with a limited god roster and said features outside core gameplay would be unavailable.
Streaming and video
Players and creators were permitted to stream and publish video from the test. The announcement made the reason explicit: “No NDA, so Streaming and Video Content is ALLOWED!”

Hi-Rez also announced an Alpha Showcase stream for May 1, 2024, at 3 p.m. ET—the day before the scheduled test opening.
How did Alpha access work at the time?
Hi-Rez support described two historical routes: players could get a chance at free access through social channels or Discord, while purchasing a Founder’s Pack provided guaranteed instant Alpha Playtest access. The support article listed PC through Steam and Epic Games, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam Deck. What kind of game was SMITE 2?
