For Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, the fastest way to look up a demon you have not registered is to use Reverse Compendium Fusion in the game’s fusion menu. It searches for available targets instead of requiring you to discover the full compendium first. This guide is specifically scoped to the 2024 Vengeance release; check recipes in your own version before relying on them in the 2021 original.
How to look up a fusion without completing the compendium
Open the fusion options at the World of Shadows and choose Reverse Compendium Fusion. Rather than starting with two ingredients and guessing the result, this lookup works from the demon you want and shows obtainable targets based on your registered demons. PowerPyx describes it as the quickest way to fill the compendium; having more demons registered makes fusion easier.
If you are consulting an external recipe list, treat each recipe as one possible route, not necessarily the only route. PowerPyx says its Vengeance compendium guide gives one recipe for each listed demon and that other combinations can exist.
Verified demon in the level 1–20 range
The evidence available for this narrow range verifies one entry, rather than a complete level-by-level roster. Do not treat the table as exhaustive.

| Demon | Level | Race | Verified fusion recipe |
|---|---|---|---|
| Principality | 20 | not stated (Gamer Guides) | not stated (Gamer Guides) |
Gamer Guides’ original Shin Megami Tensei V compendium reference identifies Principality as level 20. It does not establish a recipe here, so no ingredient combination is supplied. Use Reverse Compendium Fusion in the release you are playing to confirm an available route.
Which version does this cover?
The detailed full-compendium reference cited here is for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, released in 2024, and should not be assumed to match every demon or recipe in the 2021 base game. PowerPyx reports 276 demons in its Vengeance guide, including two paid DLC demons; that is its count for that guide, not a count of demons between levels 1 and 20.

SEGA’s official Vengeance system page describes Demon Fusion and explains that essences can alter a demon’s affinity resistances and skills. Fusion is for creating a demon from ingredients; essence use is a separate way to adjust a demon you already have. Do not transfer fusion formulas from other Shin Megami Tensei games, whose rules may differ.
