Short answer: if you want to give Dagmar a chance to survive, try to persuade Aza with a Speech skill of 17 or higher. The walkthrough covering this choice names the companion as Aza, not Alva; “Alva” appears to be a naming error in the question. If Dagmar dies, the guide reports that you can loot Aza’s Advanced Mod Kit from her body. If Aza kills Dagmar, Glorious Dawn makes Aza its new leader.
Where the Dagmar choice happens
The confrontation occurs during Aza’s companion quest, Stabbing at Shadows. The walkthrough says Aza discovers Dagmar’s connection to the Protectorate and the order against Aza, then seeks to confront her. The available guide is dated November 4, 2025, and reports the immediate quest outcomes below; these outcomes have not been independently tested here.
What happens if you spare or kill Dagmar?
| Choice or outcome | Reported result |
|---|---|
| Dagmar dies | You can loot Aza’s Advanced Mod Kit from Dagmar’s body, according to the walkthrough. |
| Aza kills Dagmar | Glorious Dawn takes Aza as its new leader, according to the walkthrough. |
| Dagmar survives | If Aza has refrained from murdering other cult members, the guide says you can urge her to suppress her murderous impulses. |
How to stop Aza from killing Dagmar
The walkthrough reports that a Speech skill check of 17 or higher can persuade Aza not to kill Dagmar. Earlier violence by Aza may make persuasion more difficult, so avoid letting her murder other cult members if you want to preserve this option.
Which choice should you make?
- To try to save Dagmar: meet the reported Speech threshold and avoid earlier actions that make Aza harder to persuade.
- If you want the Advanced Mod Kit: the guide says it can be collected from Dagmar’s body if she dies.
- If you choose to let Aza kill Dagmar: expect Glorious Dawn to take Aza as its new leader, as reported by the walkthrough.
The available information establishes these immediate outcomes, but not whether Dagmar’s fate changes the game’s ending or later companion content. It does not support a broader promise about long-term consequences.
