Shovel Knight: Steel Thy Concert was Yacht Club Games’ first official live concert for the series, pairing orchestral and rock arrangements of its music with gameplay footage. The two announced performances were in New York on February 22, 2025, and Los Angeles on March 30, 2025; both dates have passed.
What was Shovel Knight: Steel Thy Concert?
Yacht Club Games announced Steel Thy Concert on September 3, 2024, as a decade-of-the-series celebration and described it as the “first-ever official Shovel Knight concert.” The program brought together a live orchestral and rock ensemble to perform music from the games, with arrangements by Charlie Rosen and Shovel Knight composer Jake Kaufman. Gameplay footage was shown on screen during the performance. Yacht Club Games’ announcement presented it as a two-show event.

Older promotion can be misleading: a 2024 gift guide listed Los Angeles for January 19, 2025, but the organizer’s event page was subsequently updated to March 30. Yacht Club Games’ 2024 gift guide records the earlier date; use the updated event page for the final listing.
What happened at the New York performance?

What did the New York VIP upgrade include?
The Town Hall listed a limited number of VIP upgrades for its performance. Benefits included a post-show meet and greet with members of the Shovel Knight development team and concert performers, a photograph, an autograph, and an exclusive Shovel Knight merchandise item. Yacht Club Games specified a concert poster for signing and noted that VIP add-ons and general-admission tickets were purchased separately. These were historical event terms, not an offer for a future show.
What merchandise was announced?
Yacht Club Games said attendees could buy two specially designed shirts and a set of three collectible keychains at the event, describing them as show-exclusive. The announcement does not establish whether any remain available now, so it should not be read as a current stock listing.

Is there a recording of the concert?
The sources available for the event do not establish that Steel Thy Concert was recorded or released as an album. A related physical listening option is Prescription for Sleep: Shovel Knight CD, which Yacht Club Games’ 2024 gift guide describes as a soundtrack album created alongside the studio. It contains 19 tracks from Shovel Knight and its expansions, plus an original theme, for 20 tracks total. It is a separate album, not evidence of a concert recording.
