Focus Entertainment has acknowledged Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 connection complaints in the past, but its latest patch notes do not confirm a current server outage or say that matchmaking problems have been fixed. Hotfix 15.1, posted October 8, 2026, lists crash fixes and general stability improvements. Players having trouble connecting should check Focus’s network and platform-specific support guidance.
Is Space Marine 2 down right now?
As of October 8, 2026, the official sources reviewed do not confirm an active service-wide outage, identify affected regions or platforms, or announce that a widespread problem has been resolved. That means there is not enough official information to say that the servers are currently down—or that every connection issue is fixed.

What Focus has said about connection problems
On September 18, 2024, Focus Entertainment acknowledged players’ reports of server issues, lost saves, and difficulty connecting with friends. The company said it was increasing server capacity and working to reduce the problems, which it described as a top priority. That statement records what Focus was addressing at the time; it does not establish the current status or when every reported issue was resolved. Read Focus’s September 2024 community Q&A.

There have also been reports about particular issues at different times. In the July 29, 2025 Update 9.0 notes, Game Director Dmitry Grigorenko said that update did not fix a server crash affecting Siege mode and that the team had been working on it since patch 8.1. That is historical information about a specific crash, not evidence that it persists today. Read the Update 9.0 notes.
Why PvP matchmaking can take longer
A separate issue is finding a PvP match. In a Q&A recap published October 5, 2026, Grigorenko linked PvP matchmaking complaints to the mode’s low player population, its requirement for 12 players, and shorter match times. He said further PvP improvements were planned. This explanation is specific to PvP matchmaking; it does not explain every inability to connect, server error, or platform-specific network problem. What the latest updates do—and do not—confirm
Focus and Saber released Anniversary Update II on October 1, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, marking the start of the game’s third year of post-launch support. Hotfix 15.1 followed on October 8 with general crash and stability improvements. Neither announcement, as described in the available notes, confirms a service-wide outage or an explicit global fix for server availability or matchmaking.
