Yes—Sony added five days of PlayStation Plus service after the February 2025 PlayStation Network outage. The extension was automatic, and members did not need to claim it. You can check your subscription details and next payment date in PlayStation subscription management.
What PS Plus members received
Sony’s PlayStation Support notice says five extra days were automatically added to PlayStation Plus memberships as an apology and thank-you for members’ patience. No action is needed. TechCrunch and Reuters also reported Sony’s announcement that all PlayStation Plus members would receive the five-day extension (TechCrunch; Reuters).

How to check your subscription
Open subscription management for your PlayStation account to review your membership details, including the next payment date. Sony’s notice does not provide a processing schedule or specify the eligibility outcome for former or recently expired subscribers. If your account does not reflect the change or your eligibility is unclear, check the account directly or contact PlayStation Support.
What happened during the PSN outage
The February 2025 disruption affected PlayStation Network access, including online services and store functions. The Associated Press also reported problems involving multimedia apps and account-related services (AP).

Reports described service problems from Friday evening into Saturday evening in the United States. Reuters characterized the outage as about 18 hours; the reported duration depends on the timeframe and region, so it should not be treated as an exact worldwide measure (TechCrunch; Reuters).

Sony said network services had recovered from an “operational issue.” Reuters reported that Sony did not give a more specific explanation. The available statements therefore do not establish a more detailed cause.
