When did Concord shut down?
On September 3, 2024, Firewalk Studios game director Ryan Ellis announced that sales would stop immediately and the game would go offline beginning September 6. The title had launched globally for PS5 and PC on August 23, 2024, as a 5v5 character-driven first-person multiplayer shooter. It required a PlayStation Network account and an internet connection.

In the September announcement, Ellis said Sony had decided to take the game offline and “explore options, including those that will better reach our players.” That was an interim statement, not the final status. On October 29, Sony confirmed that Concord was permanently sunset and announced the closure of Firewalk Studios.

Can you still play Concord?
No. The game was taken offline in September 2024 and permanently sunset the following month. It is not available to play on PS5 or PC. Sony’s original announcement said refunded players would lose access to the game.
How do Concord refunds work?
Sony offered full refunds to PS5 and PC purchasers. The refund process depended on the purchase channel:

These were the routes Sony announced at shutdown; a regional PlayStation support page also retains historical guidance. For help with an individual refund, contact the storefront or retailer that handled the purchase rather than treating that support page as a refund-status lookup. Why did Sony shut down Concord?
Sony said the game did not attract enough players and failed to meet its targets in a highly competitive PvP first-person-shooter genre. In the October 29 update, Sony Interactive Entertainment Studio Business Group CEO Hermen Hulst wrote: “The PvP first person shooter genre is a competitive space that’s continuously evolving, and unfortunately, we did not hit our targets with this title.” That is Sony’s explanation, not an independently established account of every factor behind the decision.

Sony’s official statements do not establish a verified sales total, player-count figure, or development budget. Performance estimates should not be presented as confirmed numbers without separately attributed reporting.

In its May 30, 2024 launch announcement, Firewalk described Concord as a 5v5 character-driven multiplayer shooter, planned for PS5 and PC on August 23. The announcement specified a PlayStation Network account and internet connection as requirements.
