The collection was announced on September 19, 2024, with a planned release date of November 21, 2024. Sony specified that 12,300 units of the PS5 Pro bundle would be available; that number does not apply to the entire collection.
Why the collection looks like the original PlayStation
The design takes its cues from the original PlayStation, which launched on December 3, 1994. Sony applied the original console’s colors to contemporary PS5 hardware. Hideaki Nishino, then CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Platform Business Group, described the aim as an offering that “utilizes the original PlayStation color design and integrates it into the latest line of PS5 hardware products.” (Sony’s September 19, 2024 announcement)
What products Sony announced
- PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle
- PS5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle
- PlayStation Portal Remote Player 30th Anniversary Limited Edition, sold separately
- DualSense Edge Wireless Controller 30th Anniversary Limited Edition, sold separately

The two console bundles include a matching anniversary DualSense controller. The standalone Portal and controller editions are separate products, not additional items listed as included in either console bundle.
What comes with each PS5 bundle
| Bundle | Console and storage | Controllers | Other listed contents |
|---|---|---|---|
| PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle | Limited-edition PS5 Pro with 2TB SSD and Wi-Fi 7 in territories that support it | Matching limited-edition DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers | DualSense Charging Station; console cover for a disc drive (disc drive sold separately); vertical stand; controller-style cable connector housing; four PlayStation Shapes cable ties; sticker; one of 30 possible limited-edition posters; paperclip |
| PS5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle | Limited-edition digital console; Sony’s announcement text extraction renders the SSD figure as “1TD,” so the 1TB figure should be treated as a transcription caveat | Matching limited-edition DualSense controller | Console cover for a disc drive (disc drive sold separately); vertical stand; controller-style cable connector housing; four PlayStation Shapes cable ties; sticker; one of 30 possible limited-edition posters; paperclip |
The Pro bundle adds a DualSense Edge and charging station compared with the Digital Edition bundle. Sony listed a disc-drive cover with each bundle, but the disc drive itself was sold separately.
