Sony’s PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection brought the original PlayStation’s gray color scheme to PS5 consoles and accessories. Announced on September 19, 2024, the limited-edition lineup included a PS5 Pro bundle, a PS5 Digital Edition bundle, a PlayStation Portal, and standalone DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers. Sony announced November 21, 2024 as the collection’s release date; that historical announcement does not establish current stock or resale prices.
What Sony announced
Sony called the lineup the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. “PSOne-style” is a useful shorthand, not the official product name: Sony said the designs were inspired by the original PlayStation’s color scheme. The collection marked 30 years since the original console launched on December 3, 1994.
The anniversary look was applied to current PS5 hardware and accessories; it was not a new console generation. Sony’s announcement listed two console bundles—a PS5 Pro and a PS5 Digital Edition—along with a PlayStation Portal remote player and standalone DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers. Sony’s collection announcement gives the product details and launch information.
What came in each console bundle
| Bundle | Console and storage | Included accessories and extras |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle | Limited-edition PS5 Pro with a 2TB SSD. Sony specified Wi-Fi 7 in territories that support the standard. | Matching limited-edition DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, DualSense Charging Station, console cover for a disc drive, vertical stand, and collector items. The disc drive was sold separately. |
| PS5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle | Limited-edition PS5 Digital Edition with a 1TB SSD. | Matching DualSense controller, console cover for a disc drive, vertical stand, and collector items. The disc drive was sold separately. |
Both bundles included a controller-style cable connector housing inspired by the original PlayStation controller, four PlayStation Shapes cable ties, a sticker, one of 30 possible poster designs, and a paperclip.

How the two console options differ
The Pro bundle was the higher-tier option, with 2TB of stated storage and both DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, plus a charging station. The Digital Edition bundle had 1TB of stated storage and one DualSense controller. Both were digital consoles as sold in the bundles: a compatible disc drive was a separate purchase, despite the included cover.
Other anniversary products
Sony also announced standalone 30th Anniversary editions of the PlayStation Portal remote player, DualSense controller, and DualSense Edge controller. These were separate products, not additional console bundles. The announcement does not establish their present availability.

Release date and limited quantity
Sony announced November 21, 2024 as the collection’s release date. It said there would be 12,300 PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Limited Edition bundles, with an edition number etched on each unit. That quantity applies to the Pro bundle; it should not be read as the total number of every product in the collection.
Sony’s 2024 announcement described PlayStation Direct preorders in certain territories and participating retailers in places where Direct was unavailable. Those were launch-period purchase routes, not evidence of current inventory.

How the anniversary bundle relates to the standard PS5 Pro
The 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro is a limited-edition design and bundle built around the PS5 Pro, not a separate performance model. Sony’s separate announcement said the standard PS5 Pro launched November 7, 2024. Sony described its hardware as having an upgraded GPU, advanced ray tracing, and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution; it claimed 67% more GPU compute units than the then-current PS5 and up to 45% faster rendering. Those are manufacturer claims, and Sony said Pro enhancements apply to selected games and vary by title. See Sony’s PS5 Pro announcement for its explanation of the standard console.

The original release and preorder details are historical. Sony’s later recommended-price notice, effective April 2, 2026, concerns standard PS5 Pro hardware and does not establish the anniversary bundle’s current value or availability. It lists standard PS5 Pro recommended prices of $899.99 in the U.S., £789.99 in the U.K., €899.99 in Europe, and ¥137,980 in Japan. These are regional prices for the standard console, not prices for the limited-edition bundle. Sony’s 2026 price notice covers those standard-console prices.
