The Helldivers 2 and Halo: ODST crossover arrived on August 26, 2025—the same day Helldivers 2 launched on Xbox Series X|S. Arrowhead Game Studios announced the crossover as a paid Legendary Warbond, pairing a set of ODST-themed gear with a notable moment of cross-platform cooperation. That timing supports the “making nice” headline, but it does not establish a broader or permanent change in Sony and Microsoft’s relationship.
What was the Halo: ODST crossover?
It was an in-game Helldivers 2 Legendary Warbond themed around Halo: ODST, announced by Arrowhead Game Studios Community Manager Mitchell Ayre on August 19, 2025. Arrowhead scheduled its release for August 26 at 5 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. BST. The studio called it the game’s first Legendary Warbond and described it as a tribute to a long-requested crossover. Arrowhead’s announcement quoted Ayre: “The Legendary Warbond marks a brand-new tier in the Warbond lineup, and we’ve gone all-in to make sure it lives up to the name.”

Why did the timing matter?
The Warbond arrived on the same day Helldivers 2 launched on Xbox Series X|S, as Engadget reported at the time. That made the crossover more than a themed content drop: a PlayStation-associated game was reaching Xbox players while featuring one of Microsoft’s best-known game franchises. It was a conspicuous moment of cooperation between the companies’ gaming ecosystems, though the available reporting establishes this release and its timing—not a new general partnership policy.
What did the Warbond include?
Arrowhead announced four weapons, two armor sets, two capes, player cards and a title, along with a vehicle and equipment pattern. The items were listed as follows:

Armor
The A-9 Helljumper and A-35 Recon armor sets both use the Feet First passive. Arrowhead said it makes movement quieter, increases the range for finding points of interest by 30%, and grants immunity to leg injuries. These are the effects described in the 2025 announcement, not independently tested performance claims.
Cosmetics and patterns
- The Honored Heirloom and Eye of the Clandestine capes
- ODST-themed player cards and a player title
- The Mean Green pattern for the Hellpod, shuttle, exosuit and FRV
What did it cost, and what was required?
At announcement, Arrowhead listed the Warbond at 1,500 Super Credits. The studio said players needed the base game, a paid purchase of Super Credits and game progression to unlock it. Those are the terms announced for the August 2025 release; they should not be taken as confirmation of today’s price or availability.

Is the Warbond still available?
The August 2025 announcement and contemporaneous coverage do not establish whether the Warbond remains available now. Check the in-game Acquisitions Center or another current official source before relying on its availability or price. The Warbond was digital in-game content, not a standalone physical release.
