Steam’s 2026 Summer Sale ran from June 25 through July 9, ending at 10 a.m. Pacific. It is over. Steam promoted deals across a range of genres, but its announcement did not give a total count of discounted games, so the headline’s “hundreds” figure is not confirmed by the available official information.
When did the 2026 Steam Summer Sale end?
Steam’s official announcement said the sale ran from June 25 through July 9, 2026, and ended at 10 a.m. Pacific. The event has ended; its offers should not be treated as currently available. Steam’s announcement gives the dates.
What kinds of games were included?
Steam described deals spanning multiple genres, including cooking, exploration, fighting, cozy games, sports and zombie games. Its announcement characterized the store as filled with deals, but that promotional language does not quantify how many games were discounted. Steam News
How many games were discounted, and how deep were the discounts?
The official Steam announcement reviewed for this event does not state a sale-wide count of discounted games or a standard discount rate. The “hundreds” in the headline should therefore not be read as a verified total.

Individual publishers promoted their own offers, which cannot be generalized to the entire store. One developer advertised discounts of up to 90% on its games for the June 25–July 9 sale period. That was a publisher-specific maximum, not a Steam-wide figure. Developer announcement on Steam
2K also announced offers on Steam that ended July 9, 2026, and identified them as digital-only. That description applies to 2K’s offer, not necessarily to every sale promotion. 2K announcement on Steam

How to assess a Steam sale offer
For any Steam promotion, check the specific game’s store page rather than assuming every title or edition shares the same price or discount. Confirm the edition, displayed price and offer end time; publisher-specific examples are not a standardized sale-wide comparison. The 2026 announcement establishes the event’s dates and broad genre coverage, not current prices or eligibility for particular games.
