Did Splitgate 2’s Player Base More Than Triple After Beta? What the 2025 Claim Actually Said

Splitgate’s June 2025 social post claimed its player base had more than tripled since beta, citing console success—but it did not disclose a count or measurement method.

Splitgate’s social account said on June 10, 2025, that its player base had “more than tripled since Beta,” crediting recent success on console. The post did not give a player count, a baseline, a measurement period, or a platform breakdown, so it does not establish how many people were playing or a precisely measured increase.

What Splitgate said about its player base

On June 10, 2025, Splitgate’s social account replied to a fan asking about player numbers: “Our player base has more than tripled since Beta. Specifically, we’ve had a ton of recent success on console.” Insider Gaming reported the post, and Gamereactor also reported the statement.

The wording is a developer claim, not a published player-count report. It does not say whether “player base” means concurrent, daily, monthly, or cumulative players, and it gives no exact number or comparison window. The account credited console success, but did not disclose how many players were on console or provide a platform-by-platform split.

What “more than tripled” does—and does not—tell us

  • It gives a relative claim: the account said the player base was more than three times what it had been “since Beta.”
  • It does not give a count: without a baseline, there is no way to calculate a total number of players from the statement.
  • It does not define the metric: a concurrent-player snapshot and a monthly-player total measure different things, and the post does not identify which it meant.
  • It does not isolate the console contribution: console was credited for recent success, but no platform figures were supplied.

Insider Gaming reported that Splitgate 2’s open beta concluded on June 6, 2025, when the game officially launched. The June 10 post came four days later; that timing is context, not a disclosed measurement period for the growth claim. Insider Gaming’s report does not provide a verifiable count behind the claim. Steam concurrent-player figures, even when available, would describe Steam activity rather than the full cross-platform population.

The claim is historical, not a statement of the game’s current status

The June 2025 post described the launch period. In July 2025, developer 1047 Games said Splitgate 2 had launched too early and returned it to beta while rebuilding major parts of the game. It later relaunched as Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. The game’s official support FAQ, updated January 22, 2026, describes its modes, maps, weapons, platform availability, controller support, and permission for creators to stream or make content about the game.

In August 2026, 1047 Games announced that it would end active development of Splitgate: Arena Reloaded and move it to peer-to-peer play on September 3, 2026. Insider Gaming reported the announcement and said it followed the studio’s statement that neither Arena Reloaded nor Empulse generated enough revenue to support dedicated-server costs. September 3 was the announced transition date; the available reporting does not independently verify the game’s technical state after that date.

How to interpret the player-count question

If the question is whether Splitgate’s account claimed growth after beta, yes: it said the player base had more than tripled. If the question is how many players that represented, or whether the claim can be independently confirmed from the cited coverage, those reports do not provide the data needed to answer. The safest reading is to treat it as an attributed launch-period claim, not a precise or current player-count statistic.
