The Sweden trip and early look at Hazelight’s next game were a one-time prize for the first players to prove they had completed it, not a reward available to players today.
How to unlock the Laser Hell secret level
- Play to Chapter 6, Isolation, and progress through the Maximum Security section until you reach the elevator.
- Look for the binary code near or above the elevator: 1100101101.
- Enter the digits using the elevator buttons: 0 means left and 1 means right. The resulting sequence is right, right, left, left, right, left, right, right, left, right.
- Coordinate the final activation with your partner. Follow the displayed sequence, keep the corresponding button active on the last input, and have the other player activate the other button so the elevator descends into the secret level.
If you have already passed the elevator, Insider Gaming reports that you can replay the section through Chapter Select. Insider Gaming’s unlock guide and GamesRadar’s walkthrough describe the code and entrance.

What is Laser Hell like?
Laser Hell is a five-section obstacle course built around timing and coordination. Reports say a death sends the player or team back to the beginning; the available walkthroughs do not establish checkpoints, so do not count on one. Josef Fares has described the challenge as exceptionally difficult. Insider Gaming attributes this line to the director in the completion video: “There are barely people in our team that can make it. It took us a lot of time to finish it.”

The reward for completing it
Finishing the course triggers a short congratulatory video from Fares. The completion reward is the video itself, not a physical item or a continuing contest.

The historical first-completion prize
In the video, Fares offered to fly the first person who could prove they had completed the challenge to Sweden and show them early footage of Hazelight’s next game. On March 19, 2025, he publicly congratulated players sharkOvO and E1uM4y and said he would invite them to Sweden. That was a one-time prize tied to the first finishers; it is not an offer subsequent players can claim. Kotaku’s report covers the offer and the winners.

Split Fiction is a co-op action-adventure game, so you need a partner for the coordinated elevator activation and course. Steam lists shared and split-screen play; its listing says one player must own the full game for a Friend’s Pass player to access the full game. Check Steam’s listing for the platform’s current co-op details.
