Dead by Daylight’s Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter is already available: it launched on Steam on June 17, 2025. It adds Springtrap—called The Animatronic in Dead by Daylight—as a playable Killer, along with a Legendary Outfit inspired by Matthew Lillard’s Springtrap in the 2023 film. The available official announcement confirms the outfit’s inspiration, but does not establish that Lillard voiced it or identify it as the “Yellow Rabbit” skin.
When did the Dead by Daylight and FNAF chapter release?
The chapter is no longer upcoming. Steam lists June 17, 2025 as the release date for Dead by Daylight: Five Nights at Freddy’s. Behaviour Interactive had announced on May 27 that the chapter was available. Check the official chapter listing for current chapter details; the Steam date confirms release on that platform.
Who is Springtrap in Dead by Daylight?
Behaviour identifies Springtrap as William Afton and introduces him as The Animatronic, a new Killer with distinct gameplay and three Perks. The chapter also includes the exclusive items Stack of Pizzas (Badge) and Vent Crawl (Banner), according to Behaviour’s chapter listing.
How do The Animatronic’s Security Doors and cameras work?
The Animatronic can enter one Security Door and exit through another, giving him a way to move around the map. Survivors can enter Security Rooms to cycle through cameras and watch the map, but using one carries a risk: Springtrap can arrive at the room and grab them. Behaviour describes the mechanics in its May 27 chapter announcement.

What are Springtrap’s three Perks?
- Help Wanted: affects a compromised Generator and attack cooldowns.
- Phantom Fear: can make a nearby Survivor scream and reveal their Aura.
- Haywire: can make Exit Gate progress decline when a Survivor is forced to leave after the gates are powered.

Is the Matthew Lillard outfit the Yellow Rabbit skin, and did he voice Springtrap?
Behaviour’s May 9, 2025 anniversary recap says it previewed a Legendary Outfit based on Matthew Lillard’s portrayal of Springtrap in the 2023 Five Nights at Freddy’s film. That supports describing the outfit as film-inspired. The official wording cited here does not call it “Yellow Rabbit” or say Lillard voiced the outfit or the game’s base Springtrap character, so those claims should not be treated as confirmed by that announcement.
