ConcernedApe said on launch day that the update was out for everyone, though it could take time to appear on a device. That was the release date for the original console rollout—not a claim that every console is still on the same build today.
When did Stardew Valley 1.6 come to consoles?
ConcernedApe announced the console and mobile release for November 4, 2024, in a September 22, 2024 developer blog post. On November 4, the developer confirmed in an official forum post that the update was out, while cautioning that it might take time to appear on a device. The console and mobile ports initially arrived at version 1.6.9.

What did the 1.6 update add?
Version 1.6 was a substantial content update, not merely a compatibility patch for consoles. ConcernedApe’s official 1.6 changelog documents additions across farming, crafting, festivals, home customization, and multiplayer. These are selected examples, not a complete list; the changelog includes substantially more detail and spoilers.
- New crops: carrots, summer squash, broccoli, and powdermelon.
- New crafting and processing items: including the Big Chest, Dehydrator, Mushroom Log, Bait Maker, Heavy Furnace, Fish Smoker, Anvil, Mini-Forge, and Tent Kits.
- More to find and earn: mystery boxes, a prize machine, and a recurring bookseller.
- Festival changes: maps and dialogue vary every second year, with exceptions described in the changelog.
- Home and multiplayer improvements: home renovations, improved multiplayer synchronization, and quality-of-life features.
Which console version is current?
Console builds have continued to change since the original 1.6.9 rollout, and platform histories differ. The following is a dated reference snapshot from the community-maintained Console Version History; version listings can change after the dates shown.

| Platform | Version information in the reference | 1.6 content and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 | Version 1.6.15.13, dated February 18, 2026 | Received 1.6 content. The listed patch includes a fix for incorrect ingredient removal during crafting, plus Switch 2 mouse-mode and GameShare fixes. |
| PlayStation 4 | Listed as equivalent to PC 1.6.15; no separate date is stated on the reference page | Received 1.6 content. |
| Xbox One | Listed as equivalent to PC 1.6.15; no separate date is stated on the reference page | Received 1.6 content. |
| PlayStation Vita | Listed as equivalent to PC 1.2.33; no separate date is stated on the reference page | It did not receive the later content updates, including 1.6. |
The Switch/Switch 2 version number and date, and the PS4 and Xbox One equivalencies, come from the wiki’s version-history page rather than a current developer announcement. The PS Vita is the important exception to any blanket statement that all console editions received 1.6.
What did later console patches change?
On February 12, 2025, ConcernedApe described console version 1.6.15.1 as addressing console issues and syncing its content with the latest PC version in the official patch post. The post was later edited to note that the Switch patch was available on February 26, 2025.
That patch’s notes include performance optimizations, a Junimo bundle button in fridge interfaces, changes to legendary fish ponds, localization improvements, and fixes affecting crashes, save handling, multiplayer, animals, and other gameplay issues. These are later maintenance and content-synchronization changes; they are separate from the original November 2024 release.

Console updates do not necessarily arrive on every platform at the same time or retain one shared version number. The original rollout was 1.6.9; subsequent console patches addressed bugs and brought content into line with newer PC releases. The community-maintained version history records newer Switch and Switch 2 patches than the PC-equivalent 1.6.15 listings for PS4 and Xbox One, while the PS Vita remains without later content updates. Check the version shown for your platform rather than assuming a single “console version” applies everywhere.
