StarRupture’s second major Early Access update, Update 2: Quality of Life, shipped on September 2, 2026. It concentrated on factory building, with new copying and deconstruction tools alongside production, storage, map, progress-tracking and accessibility improvements. For full release, developer Creepy Jar says it plans more biomes, enemies, buildings and mechanics, plus an end game. Steam lists 2027 as the planned Early Access exit year; neither that target nor the planned content is a guarantee.
What has shipped in StarRupture Early Access?
Update 2: Quality of Life is the latest major update covered here. What is planned for full release?
Creepy Jar’s Early Access description says the full release is planned to add more biomes, enemies, buildings and mechanics, as well as an end game. These are broad goals, not a dated feature-by-feature schedule. The developer also describes Early Access as a period for adding content, tuning gameplay, polishing the game and working with the community. See StarRupture’s Steam listing and Early Access description.
That description says the current Early Access game supports solo play and online co-op for up to four players. The stated future content should not be read as a guarantee that every feature will arrive on a particular date or in a particular update.

When is StarRupture expected to leave Early Access?
Steam lists January 6, 2026 as the Early Access release date and 2027 as the planned departure year. Creepy Jar says it plans to keep the game in Early Access for about a year from its initial release. Those statements describe a target, not a firm launch date; the store listing does not specify a month or day in 2027.

Keep shipped changes separate from future intentions. Update 2’s announcement is a completed feature list; the additional biomes, enemies, buildings, mechanics and end game are full-release plans. June and August 2026 developer blogs previewed Update 2 features while noting details could change; those features later appeared in the shipped update list. The developer’s Steam announcements feed also records later hotfix activity, including a September 17, 2026 Hotfix 0.3.4 entry. Because announcements continue after major updates, check the feed for the newest hotfix or version before relying on a claim about the current build.
Quick Recap
Rank #3
- In the far future, countless alien species explore the galaxy in search of fortune and fame. The last interstellar war ended over fifty years ago and since then peace treaties have been in effect. Trade routes are set, civilizations flourish, and a new source of power was discovered – the Hexis crystals.
- Star Scrappers: Cave-in is the first game in the Star Scrappers series, set in a rich and exciting space-western universe, with a unique gameplay mechanics.
- Players take roles of Galactic entrepreneurs, rival mining bosses who compete in this difficult, sometimes even merciless industry.
- As a mining boss, you will have to recruit new mercenary laborers, use their skills, and collect precious artifacts. Your job is to excavate the Hexis crystals but never let your guard down though, as your competition is waiting for a chance to buy off your trusted men and steal the bounty from under your nose! The goal of the game is to get as many victory points as possible before the crystal mine collapses.
- Star Scrappers: Cave-in uses a unique game mechanics called “discard building”. With every action taken, players put their mercenaries into their discard piles. The order of the discarded cards matters because your top card is your Leader and gives you a special action at the beginning of your next turn. Beware, if your discard pile grows too much, it will draw the attention of other players who will not hesitate to steal cards from you – they’re just bribing your men!
