Techland publishes separate requirements for desktop PCs and laptops. For laptops, its targets range from 1080p at 30 FPS on Low to 1440p at 60 FPS on High; Steam’s Windows listing also requires 16 GB of RAM, an SSD and 70 GB of available storage. These are published hardware targets, not a guarantee that every computer with similarly named parts will achieve the listed performance.
Official laptop requirements
Techland’s laptop table gives each tier a resolution, frame-rate and graphics-preset target. The component names are examples in their respective rows, not a single combined configuration: check the CPU, GPU, graphics memory and other requirements together.
| Tier | Techland target | Example graphics hardware | Example processor | Other listed requirements |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 1080p, 30 FPS, Low | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 80W+ Laptop; AMD Ryzen AI 7 350/360; or Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with Arc 140V | Intel Core i5-12450H; AMD Ryzen 5 6600H; or Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with Arc 140V | 6 GB GPU memory; 16 GB RAM; Windows 10 or newer; 70 GB SSD |
| Recommended | 1080p, 60 FPS, Medium | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop or AMD Ryzen AI 9 370 | Intel Core i7-12700H or AMD Ryzen 7 6800H | 8 GB GPU memory; 16 GB RAM; Windows 10 or newer; 70 GB SSD |
| High | 1440p, 60 FPS, High | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop or AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 | Intel Core i7-14700HX or AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX | 8 GB GPU memory; 32 GB RAM; Windows 10 or newer; 70 GB SSD |
These laptop examples and targets are from Techland’s 2025 support requirements table. The English support page presents the table as images; its Polish-language version of the same official article provides readable laptop values: Techland’s laptop requirements. Techland’s English PC requirements page contains separate PC and laptop tables.
Official desktop PC requirements
Steam lists the following minimum and recommended examples for the Windows version. It specifies Windows 10 or newer, 16 GB RAM, 70 GB available storage and an SSD for both tiers.

How to compare your laptop to the list
- Identify the exact laptop GPU. Confirm it is the laptop version named in Techland’s table. A desktop GPU with a similar model name is not an official substitute.
- Check the GPU’s power rating and memory. Techland specifies an 80W+ RTX 3050 Laptop at minimum and lists 6 GB of GPU memory for that tier. Laptop GPU performance can vary with power and thermal limits, which a model name alone does not show.
- Check the processor and RAM against the same tier. Do not combine the strongest-looking CPU from one row with a GPU from another and assume Techland has validated that pairing.
- Confirm Windows and storage. The tables specify Windows 10 or newer and a 70 GB SSD. Steam describes this as 70 GB of available storage and says an SSD is required.
- Choose the target you want to assess. Techland associates 1080p/30 FPS with Low, 1080p/60 FPS with Medium, and 1440p/60 FPS with High for laptops. Those are targets, not independently verified guarantees for every laptop configuration.
In particular, “RTX 4070” alone is not enough to assess a laptop: make sure it is an RTX 4070 Laptop GPU and check the rest of the machine and its power configuration.

What the requirements do—and do not—establish
Techland announced Dying Light: The Beast for PC, PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a 18 September 2025 release date. Its support and Steam pages provide hardware targets and requirement examples; they do not establish measured performance for every system that meets or resembles a listed row. PC Gamer also noted questions around the published PC specifications, but its commentary is not a benchmark result: PC Gamer’s September 2025 coverage.
