For most weapon families, first use and break the decayed version of the weapon you want; then look for a soldier carrying the matching weapon class in a location whose weapon pool includes that family. The Traveler’s weapon family is an exception to the break-first rule.
Where do pristine weapons appear?
Pristine weapons are carried by Shadow Soldiers, also called spectral figures, in the Depths. They stand on rock pedestals with a weapon that Link can take. According to the Zelda Dungeon Wiki’s Spectral Figure entry, these figures appear exclusively in the Depths and select a weapon from a fixed group when they spawn.
Not every figure can offer every pristine weapon. The soldier’s weapon class and the location’s available weapon pool both matter. A sword-bearing soldier, for example, is not automatically a source for every sword family. GameWith’s weapon-location guide likewise describes fixed weapon types and warns that some statues do not produce certain families.
How do I get a specific pristine weapon?
- Identify the weapon family and class. Decide whether you want a one-handed sword, two-handed weapon, or spear, and identify the decayed counterpart of that family.
- Use and break the decayed weapon. For most families, the decayed original must be destroyed before its pristine counterpart can become available from a Shadow Soldier. This is an unlock condition, not evidence that breaking multiple copies improves your odds. Traveler’s weapons are an exception, according to the Zelda Dungeon Wiki.
- Search for a matching Shadow Soldier in the Depths. Check a soldier carrying the right class of weapon, and choose a location whose pool can include the family you want. Randomly checking every pedestal may take longer because the weapon options are location-specific.
- Take the weapon if it is the one you want. The available sources do not establish a universal refresh schedule or a guaranteed reroll method when a soldier offers a different weapon. For exact locations and weapon pools, use a maintained map or location table that lists those details.
The break-first condition and location restrictions are described by GameWith and the Zelda Dungeon Wiki; Nintendo’s general gameplay guide does not document this hidden pristine-weapon system.

Why is a Shadow Soldier offering the wrong weapon?
It may be the wrong weapon class, or the soldier’s location may not have the weapon family in its pool. A figure is not a universal weapon vending point: check the class it is holding and consult a location reference for the specific family. Also check whether you have already broken the decayed counterpart, unless you are seeking a Traveler’s weapon.
Do not assume that repeatedly breaking weapons will raise the chance of a particular pristine weapon or modifier. The cited guides establish eligibility and constrained pools, but not an increased-odds mechanic.

- Ultrahand: Using the new Ultrahand ability, Link can pick up, move, and rotate almost any object, and can even attach objects together to create bridges, vehicles, and more!
- Fuse: Magically fuse almost any object to Link’s current weapon, shield, or arrow to increase durability, damage, or even add a new effect. Experiment with lots of different combinations to come up with surprising—and sometimes hilarious—results!
- Ascend: Add a new dimension to your exploration with Ascend, which gives Link the ability to pass through solid objects above him. Rise up through ceilings, hillsides, and even certain enemies to create seemingly impossible shortcuts.
- Recall: Use Recall to make objects in motion move backward through time, letting Link ride fallen boulders skyward, recover thrown weapons, or send projectiles back where they came from.
How to prepare while searching
Fuse can make your current weapon more useful during a trip through the Depths, but it does not unlock pristine spawns. Nintendo’s Beginning Your Journey guide says fusing a normal or large boulder can raise damage potential and durability, and enemy horns can also make weapons hardier. Different fused materials can add combat effects.
Nintendo describes Sensor+ as tracking a selected creature, item, or plant and alerting Link when it is nearby; the guide does not establish that it can track Shadow Soldiers. Treat it as a general exploration tool, not a confirmed pristine-weapon locator.

Are there other ways to get pristine weapons?
A search result for a Game8 guide mentions amiibo as an alternate route, but its specific eligibility and outcomes are not established here. The dependable route supported by the cited guides is to break the relevant decayed weapon and search compatible Shadow Soldier locations in the Depths. The sources also do not provide a complete, verified list of coordinates and regional pools for every weapon family, so consult a current location table for that level of detail.
