Bethesda says the update is available on all platforms and includes stability, gameplay, and UI fixes—among them a freeze that could happen while traversing a planet’s surface. These notes do not establish whether Bethesda released a later update after June 11, 2026.
What the June 11 Starfield update changed
Bethesda’s Update 1.16.244 notes group the fixes into General, Gameplay, and UI.

General fixes
- Fixed a freeze that could occur while traversing a planet’s surface.
- Fixed Black Box Incursions that might not start or reset correctly.
- Fixed a crash when placing a Designer Couch aboard a ship.
- Fixed an infinite load associated with placing a data slate display aboard a ship.
- Included general crash and stability fixes.
Gameplay fixes
- Fixed an unresponsive state that could occur when trying to go through load doors while using the scanner.
- Corrected Delta appearing at the wrong size.
- Fixed Quantum Essence being usable from Favorites when none was available.
- Fixed Points of Interest appearing on planets with no human presence.
- Addressed an encounter with too many asteroids.
UI fixes
- Fixed Incursion icons displaying incorrectly on the Starmap after loading a save.
- Addressed vehicle-menu unresponsiveness.
- Fixed a character texture issue during character creation and font display errors.
- Updated the credits.
Bethesda describes these as fixes; the notes do not report a performance benchmark or guarantee that a particular player’s issue will be resolved in every situation.
How 1.16.244 fits with the previous updates
The June patch is a maintenance update, distinct from April’s larger Free Lanes feature update. The recent sequence was:

Free Lanes’ additions—such as cruise mode, the Moon Jumper vehicle, and new crafting and outpost systems—belong to the April release, not the June patch.

Bethesda Game Studios wrote on June 11, 2026, “Today’s update to Starfield is now available on all platforms!” Its notes also direct players to download the latest update for both the Starfield base game and the Terran Armada DLC. The announcement does not provide platform-by-platform instructions or a separate version breakdown.
