The leaked Starfield PS5 release date was April 7, 2026. Bethesda confirmed that date on March 17, and the game launched on PS5 on April 7. What began as an unconfirmed report is now a completed release.
How the leaked date became official
- February 5, 2026: Polish gaming site PPE.pl reported that the Standard and Premium PS5 editions were due April 7, attributing the information to insider Graczdari. It was a leak report, not an announcement from Bethesda. PPE.pl’s report

What comes with the PS5 editions?
The official U.S. PlayStation listing offers Standard and Premium editions. It identifies the included content, but it does not establish that a physical-disc version is available.

PS5 and PS5 Pro features
Bethesda says the PS5 version uses the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers, light bar, touchpad and speaker. On PS5 Pro, the announced Visual mode targets 4K at 30 fps, while Performance mode targets 60 fps with improved visuals.
