Spoilers for Starfield’s New Game+ Lodge scenarios and story outcomes. The most compelling alternate universe is the one where another version of you joins Constellation: it turns the multiverse premise into a character you can recruit. This ranking compares the ten unusual Lodge scenarios listed in Prima Games’ October 20, 2023 guide, weighing surprise, interaction, story impact and gameplay friction. Bethesda confirms that New Game+ can vary between runs, but has not confirmed that ten is an exhaustive count or published an official ranking.

How alternate universes work in Starfield

Starfield makes New Game+ part of its fiction. After the main story, you can assemble the Artifacts in the Armillary and grav-jump to the Unity to begin another playthrough. Bethesda says that New Game+ starts near the beginning again, with variations in how the main story plays and changes that differ between runs. The unusual universes in this guide alter what the player encounters at the Lodge.

The Unity is a choice, not a one-way decision you must make immediately. Bethesda’s One Giant Leap guidance says you can remove the Artifacts from the Armillary and continue travelling normally, then return to the Unity later by rebuilding it.

Starting over resets much of your progress. Bethesda’s New Game+ overview says traits, skills, powers and the Frontier carry over, while items, ships, outposts, credits and explored-planet records do not. There is a current optional exception for items: Bethesda’s April 7, 2026 Free Lanes update adds a Quantum Entanglement Device at the Lodge after you assemble the Armillary. Using it lets you bring favorite items into the next playthrough.

All 10 reported alternate universes, ranked

This is an editorial ranking, not an official scorecard. The placements favor scenarios that make the alternate reality matter through a recruitable character, a consequential reversal or a substantial choice. Some players will prefer the quick, strange Lodge reveals over combat or resource demands. The ten entries are the variants Prima Games described in 2023, not a verified total for every current game version.

  1. An Alternate You

Another version of the player character arrives at the Lodge after discovering the Argos Extractors Artifact, and Prima Games says you can recruit this alternate self as a companion. It earns the top spot because it turns the central multiverse idea into an ongoing relationship rather than a brief visual gag. Players who value character interaction and novelty over a dramatic confrontation are likely to rate it highest.

  2. Starborn Cora Coe

Cora appears as a Starborn leading Spacers and seeking revenge over Sam Coe. According to Prima Games, whether Sam died in the previous reality affects her response. That condition gives the reveal a personal consequence tied to an earlier story outcome, making it the strongest character reversal in the list. Its appeal depends on how much the player cares about Sam’s story.

  3. An Evil You

An evil version of the player attacks Constellation, leaving its members dead and Sarah alive. You must fight the alternate self and rescue Sarah to recover the Artifacts. This is among the most active Lodge scenarios, with clear stakes and a direct confrontation with the player character. It ranks below the first two because its impact comes with a combat-heavy setup that may not suit players seeking a quieter story reveal.

  4. Andreja Goes Evil

Andreja embraces House Va’ruun and takes over Constellation with Va’ruun Zealots; you fight them to recover the Artifacts. The scenario brings faction drama into the Lodge and gives players a concrete enemy to overcome. It is a stronger pick for action and faction conflict than for recruitment or extended branching, which keeps it just below An Evil You.

  5. Walter Takes Control

Walter runs Constellation as a business and asks for 100,000 credits for the Artifacts, according to Prima Games. The guide says an Industrialist-background persuasion option can secure them without payment. The unusual premise becomes a distinct resource or dialogue problem, so this variant offers a meaningful choice even without the personal stakes of Cora’s appearance. The large demand may be more interesting to players who enjoy negotiation than to those who want an immediate fight.

Starfield | Premium Upgrade | Xbox Series X|S & Windows Digital
    • TELL YOUR STORY - In Starfield the most important story is the one you tell with your character. Start your journey by customizing your appearance and deciding your Background and Traits. Will you be an experienced explorer, a charming diplomat, a stealthy cyber runner, or something else entirely? The choice is yours. Decide who you will be and what you will become.
    • EXPLORE OUTER SPACE - Venture through the stars and explore more than 1000 planets. Navigate bustling cities, explore dangerous bases, and traverse wild landscapes. Meet and recruit a memorable cast of characters, join in the adventures of various factions, and embark on quests across the Settled Systems. A new story or experience is always waiting to be discovered.
    • CAPTAIN THE SHIP OF YOUR DREAMS - Pilot and command the ship of your dreams. Personalize the look of your ship, modify critical systems including weapons and shields, and assign crew members to provide unique bonuses. In deep space you will engage in high-stakes dogfights, encounter random missions, dock at star stations, and even board and commandeer enemy ships to add to your collection.
    • DISCOVER, COLLECT, BUILD - Explore planets and discover the fauna, flora, and resources needed to craft everything from medicine and food to equipment and weapons. Build outposts and hire a crew to passively extract materials and establish cargo links to transfer resources between them. Invest these raw materials into research projects to unlock unique crafting recipes.
    • LOCK AND LOAD - Space can be a dangerous place. A refined combat system gives you the tools to deal with any situation. Whether you prefer long-range rifles, laser weapons, or demolitions, each weapon type can be modified to complement your playstyle. Zero G environments add a chaotic spectacle to combat, while boost packs give players freedom to maneuver like never before.
  6. The Hunter

In Prima Games’ account, the Hunter has killed Constellation and collected the Artifacts and star charts, then hands them over rather than fighting. The empty Lodge makes for a bleak reveal, but the encounter offers limited conflict or interaction after that moment. It ranks well for atmosphere and low for players looking for a substantial scenario to play through.

  7. Multiple Versions of You

Starborn versions of the player take the usual Constellation members’ places, assume their roles and help with the Artifacts and star charts. The premise is a neat multiverse joke, and the repeated versions create an immediately memorable Lodge scene. Its deliberately repetitive gag has less story consequence than the higher-ranked entries, so it is likely to land best with players who enjoy absurdity.

  8. Child-run Constellation

Children role-play Constellation members at the Lodge and hand over the Artifacts and star charts. The surprise and comic contrast do most of the work; Prima Games describes little additional friction. It is a charming, quick reveal rather than a deep quest branch, making it a good choice for players who value a lighthearted moment over combat or consequential dialogue.

    • Jump into the pilot seat. Pilot your ship, the Trailblazer, as you engage in thrilling dogfights with the Empire and other foes. Find the right opportunities to chase, evade, and attack to get the upper hand.
  9. Lonely Vasco

Vasco is the only Constellation member at the Lodge after the Hunter has killed everyone else, and he hands over the Artifacts and star charts. The scenario’s strength is its melancholy image of a familiar place emptied of its people. The described acquisition is straightforward, so the emotional reveal carries more weight than the interaction that follows.

  10. The Plant Version of Sarah Morgan

The Lodge is empty except for a house plant named Sarah Morgan; Noel provides the Artifacts so you can continue. It is the list’s most absurd punchline and perhaps its most memorable single image. It ranks last only because, in Prima Games’ account, the joke is the scenario rather than the start of a deep quest branch. Players who prize sheer weirdness may put it much higher.

What the list does—and does not—establish

Prima Games’ October 20, 2023 guide calls these the New Game+ universes “we know of.” Its ten entries are a reported count from that guide, not a Bethesda statistic, a verified current spawn pool or proof that no other variants exist. Bethesda’s official guidance confirms that New Game+ runs can differ, but does not provide a catalogue or rank their quality.
