Spoilers for the temple and its boss fight follow.
Reach the Lightning Temple
Progress through the Riju of Gerudo Town main quest until the temple is exposed. Queen Gibdo appears before you enter; defeating her there opens the way, but it is not the final battle.
Clear the entrance passage
Inside, move through the trap passage carefully. Wait for the flame jets to stop before crossing. Use Recall on rolling hazards to send them back, and use Ascend if you drop onto a lower section and need to return to the route.
Open the temple and find the first battery
In the Room of Hopeful Light, defeat the Construct and use a mirror to direct the beam onto the target. Follow the opened route to the Room of Ascension and inspect its Zonai terminal. This central chamber is the hub for the four batteries and the lift.

Battery 1: move the sandstone blocks
- From the Room of Ascension, use Ultrahand to move the loose sandstone blocks beside the blocked passage.
- Go through the opening and use Riju’s lightning on the exposed battery.
- Return to the central chamber.
Reach the upper floor and route the sunlight
Move the stone blocking the wind vent in the central chamber. Ride the updraft to the upper level. In the Room of Natural Light, stand the stone pillar upright and attach a mirror so sunlight passes through the opening. Return to the central room and adjust the mirror-bearing statues to guide the beam toward the next target.
Room names and the precise order of some routes vary between walkthroughs. Follow the beam’s functional path: uncover the sunlight, redirect it with mirrors, and use it to open the next passage.

- Ultrahand: Using the new Ultrahand ability, Link can pick up, move, and rotate almost any object, and can even attach objects together to create bridges, vehicles, and more!
- Fuse: Magically fuse almost any object to Link’s current weapon, shield, or arrow to increase durability, damage, or even add a new effect. Experiment with lots of different combinations to come up with surprising—and sometimes hilarious—results!
- Ascend: Add a new dimension to your exploration with Ascend, which gives Link the ability to pass through solid objects above him. Rise up through ceilings, hillsides, and even certain enemies to create seemingly impossible shortcuts.
- Recall: Use Recall to make objects in motion move backward through time, letting Link ride fallen boulders skyward, recover thrown weapons, or send projectiles back where they came from.
Use the balloon and mirror to reach another battery
Follow the reflected beam into the enemy room. Defeat the Constructs and destroy the Gibdo hive; elemental attacks are useful against Gibdos. The puzzle here combines a balloon, a grate or platform, and a mirror.
- Position the mirror so it sends light toward the target.
- Use a torch or nearby fire to heat the balloon and raise the platform.
- Once the target is illuminated and the route opens, enter the battery room and activate the battery with Riju’s lightning.
Align the rotating discs and cross the crushers
Pass the rotating discs
Use Recall on the rotating parts to bring their openings into alignment. Release Recall when the openings line up, then let the moving discs carry the beam through.

Cross the crusher corridor
Use a loose block to wedge the horizontal crushers apart, then place another block to hold up the descending spiked crusher. Cross through the safe opening and continue to the next light chamber.
Find the final battery
In the Room of Light and Shade, defeat the Construct and descend through the opening to the spinning chamber. Retrieve the mirror with Ultrahand. Use a stake in the wall to stop the chamber’s rotation when its opening or marking aligns with the light path.

Return upward and direct the beam along the final route to the battery. Activate it with Riju’s lightning. If Riju has not followed you, backtrack along the route until she catches up.

Return to the Room of Ascension once all four batteries are charged and activate the lift. The upper room leads to the final Queen Gibdo encounter.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteExpose the Queen
Use Riju’s lightning or other elemental attacks to break through Queen Gibdo’s hardened outer layer. When she is exposed, close in and deal melee damage. The earlier encounter uses the same broad approach: keep moving to avoid her slam and wing-generated tornadoes, then attack while her armor is stripped.
Manage the hives and other Gibdos
Destroy active hives to limit the Gibdos they spawn. The light pillars left by destroyed hives can help protect you from nearby Gibdos. Keep track of the Queen while dealing with the additional enemies; the walkthroughs do not establish a mandatory weapon, armor set, or meal loadout.
