The January 2026 teaser pointed fans to a cryptic fictional computer terminal; later reporting clarified that the project is separate from Battlestate Games and Escape from Tarkov.
What was the mysterious COR3 site?
When Buyanov directed attention to COR3.gg on January 13, 2026, the site presented a retro-futuristic terminal rather than a conventional game announcement. Insider Gaming reported an email and one-time-password login, followed by a fictional operating system called CORIE. Its apparent features included messages, a restricted browser, an apocalyptic weather display, radio audio, a notepad, an updater and daily challenges delivered as files. The environment appeared to be set around 2251, according to that report. Insider Gaming’s January 13 report
The terminal also introduced a fictional investigation: a first-person researcher working for “History Unfolded” is hired by Aurana Strogova to examine files about experiments dating from 2170 onward. The lore referenced a bunker, equipment and armor, space elevators, cargo ships near Venus, a space council, a space navy and a faction called Alternative Future. Those details gave the teaser the feel of a larger science-fiction world, but the January site alone did not establish exactly what the project was.
Why did Tarkov players think it might be connected?
The association came from Buyanov’s role as a prominent figure behind Escape from Tarkov and the teaser’s arrival through his social posts. That made a new project from the Tarkov lead an obvious point of speculation, but it did not mean Battlestate Games was developing it. The original teaser report captured the confusion while the project’s identity was still unclear.

What is the game called, and who is making it?
Later reporting identifies the game as Fragmentary Order. GamesBeat reported in April 2026 that Buyanov had created Rant Gaming Studios, with COR3 as the project’s publisher. It described the studio and game as separate from Battlestate Games, which remained focused on Escape from Tarkov. GamesBeat’s April 22, 2026 coverage
In that interview coverage, Buyanov said the project had been in development for a couple of years, with production underway for about a year. Those are timings attributed to him in the report, not independently verified production records. February coverage also described Fragmentary Order as neither an official Tarkov-in-space game nor a Battlestate title; that distinction is corroborated by the FPSNews topic index.

Is it an extraction shooter set in space?
GamesBeat characterized Buyanov’s description as a “combat simulator” with extraction mechanics. The distinction matters: the report says the game includes extraction mechanics, but Buyanov did not label it an extraction shooter. Calling it “Tarkov in space” may capture why fans made the connection, but it is not an established genre label or official tagline.

The cited coverage identifies the project and its studio and publisher, but does not establish a release date, platforms, system requirements, price, preorder status, retail edition or purchase page. Treat those details as unconfirmed unless they appear in an official project announcement.
