Styx: Blades of Greed has a 75 Metascore on PC, classified as “Generally Favorable,” based on 24 critic reviews in Metacritic’s snapshot. That total includes 15 positive and 9 mixed reviews, so the reception is broadly positive but not unanimous. The game’s stealth focus, vertical environments and more open approach to exploration are central to the praise; the available evidence does not establish a single consensus criticism.

What is the critic score for Styx: Blades of Greed?

Metacritic’s PC page lists a score of 75, or “Generally Favorable,” from 24 critic reviews: 15 positive, 9 mixed and 0 negative. This is a PC-only aggregate, not a score that should be applied to every platform. Metacritic’s figures can change as reviews are added or its page is updated. Metacritic’s PC critic page

The split matters: nine of the 24 reviews in that snapshot are mixed. The overall label is favorable, but the count does not support describing the game as universally acclaimed.

What do critics highlight about the game?

Styx: Blades of Greed (PS5) - Stealth Adventure, Three Open Worlds, Fantasy Environment
  • FREEDOM IN PLAY: Choose from a variety of approaches to past guards and traps, either by sneaking past or by using your abilities to manipulate the surroundings to your advantage.
  • FANTASY: Follow the Styx and his crew as they set their own goals and hunt for quartz, a rare and mighty source of energy, while bringing a grand conflict between different races to emerge.
  • VERTICAL ENVIRONMENTS: Explore three large open areas where height differences and complex landscapes offer creative solutions and new challenges at every corner, all in a detailed imagination environment.
  • NEW Abilities & TOOLS: Discover and master new skills such as cloning and invisibility, as well as use special equipment to reach previously unavailable places and take on more difficult missions.
  • HUMOR AND PERSONALITY: Experience the characteristic wit and humor, which set a unique touch on the adventure and make every choice and action memorable during your journey.

PC Gamer describes the game as moving toward an open-world format while retaining a feel familiar to the earlier games: “Blades of Greed shifts towards an open world format, but the result is not dissimilar to the level-based design of the first two Styx games.” Its review’s listed Metacritic score is 80. A stealth-first experience

TechRadar characterizes the game as an old-fashioned stealth experience built around sneaking and avoiding detection. Its review notes that combat is risky for Styx, a fragile protagonist, making stealth the more natural approach. TechRadar’s review metadata lists PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Examples of individual critic scores

Individual high scores illustrate the range of reactions, but they do not replace the aggregate or speak for every reviewer.

Both scores and the listed summaries appear in Metacritic’s review list; they are examples rather than a substitute for its 75 PC Metascore.

Are player reviews the same as critic reviews?

No. Steam user reviews are a separate measure from critic ratings. On October 8, 2026, Steam’s store page showed 66% positive among 788 all-time user reviews and 70% positive among 30 recent reviews. Those percentages and counts describe user feedback at that access date; live totals can change. Styx: Blades of Greed on Steam

What the review evidence does not establish

The 24-review Metacritic snapshot shows a meaningful mixed segment, but the available summaries do not provide enough full mixed-review text to identify a reliable consensus complaint. It would be misleading to attribute a particular recurring flaw to critics based on these figures alone. The score is also specific to PC; the evidence here does not establish a separate critic aggregate for each console platform.
