Where to find the Second Trial of Aql
Look for The Deep Struggle in Eastern Vermillius Gap. Guides place it in the area around the Wreck of the Actaeon: Game8 describes the cave as northeast of the wreck, while Method.gg places it just east of the wreck, near the Hagga Basin border. BLAST.tv offers another broad landmark, describing the entrance as southeast of the Hammer of Mirzabah, at ground level on the south side of the northernmost rock cluster. Treat these as orientation cues, not verified coordinates; the available guides do not establish a precise coordinate.

Use the Journey clue to identify the entrance
Open the Journey tab, select The Second Trial of Aql, then choose View Trial Location to see the clue and map image. Method.gg reproduces the riddle as: “Para-southeast of the great hammer of Mirzabah… the shattered teeth of the gods… nestled between molar and incisor… a cavity revealed.” In practical terms, use the Hammer of Mirzabah and the jagged rock formations to orient yourself, then search among the rocks for the cave entrance.
How to complete the trial
- Find The Deep Struggle. Use the Journey location clue and the surrounding rock formations to reach the moisture-sealed cave in Eastern Vermillius Gap.
- Follow the cave route to the altar. Continue underground toward the lowest level. Game8 places the spice plate at the bottom of the route.
- Inhale the spice. Interact with the altar to enter the vision trial.
- Use the Static Compactor on hazards. Clear the marked burning areas and poisonous gas before crossing those sections. Avoid trying to run through an active hazard.
- Turn sand tornadoes into platforms. Use the compactor on the small tornadoes to solidify them into rock formations, then jump between the formations to cross gaps.
- Keep moving along the route. The objective is to traverse the trial to its end and complete the quest.
What the Static Compactor does in this trial
The Static Compactor is supplied for the trial. Its two key uses are removing environmental hazards, including fire and poison, and solidifying small sand tornadoes into stable platforms. Use it where the route requires a hazard to be cleared or a gap to be crossed. The available walkthroughs do not establish that you need an outside item or consumable to finish.

Completion reward
The quest-data page lists 100 XP and the Static Compactor unlock. Game8 lists the Static Compactor as the unlockable and no separate reward, so do not count on additional loot as a guaranteed trial reward. The quest-data entry reports Version 1.5.3.6 and an October 6, 2026 update; later game changes may alter the route, tool behavior, or reward.
