Check compatibility before choosing
The exact game build matters more than a mod’s general description. BlitzFX’s explicit incompatibility label is a strong reason not to assume it works with the Next-Gen Update. DLSSTweaks has mixed signals: its pack is tagged as compatible, yet its description warns that it may only work with older versions. Neither source provides current-build confirmation. Read the latest author notes, files, and user reports on the live pages before changing your installation.
CD Projekt Red says most Witcher 3 modders upload to Nexus Mods and that installation directions are generally in each mod’s description. How to install BlitzFX on a compatible version
Follow the mod page’s directions only after confirming that its files support your installed game version. The published setup steps are:
- Install the required dependency, Community Patch – Shared Imports.
- Extract the BlitzFX main archive into the Witcher 3 installation directory.
- Set BlitzFX to the highest mod priority.
- Disable motion blur and leave the game’s in-game anti-aliasing enabled; the author says TAA needs that setting enabled to work as intended.
- Use F8 to open BlitzFX settings.
Because BlitzFX changes more than anti-aliasing, consider its interaction with other rendering mods when troubleshooting. The published setup instructions do not establish that every combination of mods or game versions will work.

How to investigate DLAA instead
DLSSTweaks offers a different approach: enabling DLAA and adjusting DLSS scaling ratios for DLSS-supported titles. Its Witcher 3 pack lists version 0.200.6 and a last update of 12 April 2023, and warns that it may only work with older game versions. Treat it as an option to investigate rather than a confirmed fix for a current installation.

If anti-aliasing is not working
- For BlitzFX, check the in-game anti-aliasing setting. The author’s instructions say it must remain enabled for the mod’s TAA to work as intended.
- Check the installation steps. Confirm the dependency is installed, the archive was extracted to the game directory, and BlitzFX has the highest mod priority.
- Check motion blur. The published instructions say to disable it.
- Recheck game-version compatibility. A correct installation cannot resolve an incompatibility with the installed build; consult the current author page before further troubleshooting.
- For DLSSTweaks, confirm version support and DLSS support. The Witcher 3 pack’s older-version warning means its tag alone is not enough to establish compatibility.
