The goal is simply to survive as long as possible—there are no quests or Easter Eggs to chase in this mode. These five practical tips follow the official guidance, not a ranked or guaranteed high-round meta.
1. Keep your upgrades moving
Do not let upgrades become an afterthought while you focus on the next wave. The official Vandorn Farm guide recommends upgrading consistently. The launch guide describes three weapon systems to consider: Pack-a-Punch, weapon rarity upgrades, and Ammo Mods. It does not prescribe a universal order, so adapt your choices to your current weapon and situation rather than treating one sequence as mandatory.
As Dan Herrera writes in the official guide, “You can’t run from the horde forever, so it’s down to getting your upgrades in a consistent manner and following through with some quick thinking in order to survive the onslaught.”
2. Use the Blade Trap when pressure builds
The official map guide calls out traps such as the Blade Trap as tools to look for when things get dire. Treat it as a way to relieve pressure when the horde is closing in, not as a substitute for managing your position or improving your weapons. The guide does not establish a trap timing, route, or guaranteed number of kills.

3. Protect your room to move
Vandorn Farm gives you fewer places to run than a larger map. Treyarch’s launch overview says “tactical positioning is the key to keeping the undead forces at bay.” In practice, avoid letting zombies box you into a corner or cut off the path you need to move through. Keep an escape option in mind as the horde approaches; this is practical advice based on the map’s confined layout, not a verified best route.
4. Learn the Survival layout before relying on familiar placements
Machines and interactive resources are available in the smaller Survival area, but some placements differ from Standard mode. Treyarch notes that some Crafting Tables, Wall Buys, and machines are moved into the Survival map. Learn where the useful options are in this version rather than assuming they are where you remember them from Standard. The official guides do not provide a single required resource path.

5. Spend your attention on holding out, not quest hunting
Vandorn Farm Survival has no quests or Easter Eggs to track down: the objective is to hold out for as long as possible. Ashes of the Damned Standard is a larger experience with quest content, but its objectives are not part of a Vandorn Farm Survival run. Keeping that distinction clear helps you focus on the mode’s actual task.

The official material supports consistent upgrades, using the Blade Trap in a crisis, tactical positioning, and learning Survival’s local resources. It does not establish an optimal weapon, perk order, route, or guaranteed high-round strategy. Balance and tactics may also change with patches, so these principles are more dependable than treating any one loadout or route as a permanent meta.
