It launched on June 17, 2025, so it is already released—not an upcoming 2025 game. Set in the Arq Grid introduced in TRON: Identity, it follows courier Exo as she uses a time-looping ability to navigate a fractured digital world.
What is TRON: Catalyst?
TRON: Catalyst is a story-driven isometric action-adventure developed by Bithell Games in collaboration with Disney Games and announced by Big Fan Games. It returns to the Arq Grid, the setting of TRON: Identity. Rather than presenting a first-person ride through the Grid, it combines exploration, combat, and a character-focused story from an isometric perspective. Big Fan Games’ announcement describes the game and its original platform lineup.

When did TRON: Catalyst come out?
TRON: Catalyst released on June 17, 2025. Nintendo’s US listing and Steam both give that release date; the 2025 date in the original announcement is now historical. Nintendo’s US product page lists a digital Nintendo Switch edition, while Steam’s store page lists the PC release.
What is the story about?
You play as Exo, a courier program whose life changes when a mysterious package gives her the Glitch ability. The Arq Grid is unstable, and Exo is pursued by Conn, a malevolent program. Her ability lets her restart time loops while retaining what she has learned, giving her a way to use shortcuts and affect rival factions as the story unfolds. The premise comes from the publisher and storefront descriptions, which frame the Glitch as both a narrative power and a means of navigating the world.

How does the gameplay work?
Explore and use the Glitch
Exploration takes place across the Arq Grid from an isometric viewpoint. Exo can use the Glitch to restart loops with her knowledge intact, helping her find routes through the world and influence its factions. This makes repetition part of the story’s structure rather than simply a reset that erases progress in the player’s understanding.
Fight with discs and code upgrades
Combat mixes melee and ranged attacks with parrying and Disc kicks. Data Shards can be collected to upgrade Exo’s code. These systems sit alongside exploration and faction interactions, so the game is presented as an action-adventure rather than a combat-only experience.
