Which Guerrilla game should you play first?
If you want the main Horizon story, begin with Horizon Zero Dawn. Guerrilla describes it as the story of machine hunter Aloy investigating her origins amid the ruins of civilization. It is the straightforward starting point before Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel. PlayStation’s Horizon catalog lists a Complete Edition of Zero Dawn; check the listing for the platform and edition available in your region.

Why play Horizon Zero Dawn before Forbidden West?
Forbidden West is the follow-up to Zero Dawn, so playing in release-and-story order lets you meet Aloy at the beginning of her journey before moving on to the sequel. If you have already played Zero Dawn and want more of its world, Forbidden West is the natural next choice.
What the Complete Edition includes
PlayStation’s September 27, 2023 announcement described Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition as including the main game and Burning Shores, along with a digital soundtrack, art book, comic and in-game extras. The PlayStation Store also lists a standard edition and a separate Burning Shores add-on for PS5. Check the current store listing before buying: availability and prices may vary by platform and region.

Which Guerrilla games suit a different play style?
For VR: Horizon Call of the Mountain
Call of the Mountain is built for VR, with a new protagonist, Ryas, and interaction using two PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers. It is a side experience for players who want to explore Horizon in VR, not a replacement for Aloy’s main story.

LEGO Horizon Adventures recasts Aloy and her friends in a colorful adventure that can be played solo or cooperatively. It is the distinct pick for players who want a lighter take on the setting. Guerrilla’s description establishes its format, not how it compares in quality with the mainline games.
For shooters: Killzone 2 or Shadow Fall
Choose Killzone 2 for an ISA mission on Helghan, or Killzone: Shadow Fall for a covert-operations premise set decades after Helghan’s destruction. Guerrilla’s catalog also lists Killzone 3, Killzone: Mercenary, Killzone: Liberation and the original Killzone; the available descriptions do not establish a critical or player-consensus winner among them.

Guerrilla’s games page features Horizon Hunters Gathering as tactical three-player cooperative action. TechRadar’s February 2026 coverage describes it as announced for PS5 and PC. The cited material does not establish a release date or final commercial availability, so treat it as upcoming rather than as a game you can currently choose from the catalog.
